4. It's not near a rail line, although it has a few good busses to the City and to Chatswood station.

What is wrong with UOW?

- The last attractive female unibar staff member left last week
- Unibar prices rise every year regardless. I'm now paying $1.20 more for the same lunch I was having in 1st Year.
- There's just not enough space in the worst architectually designed unibar in the country.
- The fold down writing desks in a lot of the rooms have loose hinges meaning that the table will shift and all your books will end up on the floor at least once during a tutorial/lecture.
- The lack of parking, and what parking is available, is prohibitively expensive. This means that if you want to park on the street, unless you arrive at 6am, you'll be walking 600m or usually more just to get to uni.
- The disappearance of the duckpond lawn entertainment on tuesdays... the only live entertainment these days is a thursday night band which you have to pay $10+ just for entry. It was only a couple of years ago that UOW had free bands, free live comedy and cheap band nights on a thursday... I like having the bigger bands, but what happened to having a cheap/free night of local bands... it needs to happen, especially with the closure of a few local places.

And that's only the beginning...

Bad things about UTS are the lack of grass and the fact that campus life could be more than it currently is. And I wish the library was at city instead of haymarket, then I might actually visit it more often lol.
At least yoru library doesn't have the lovely aroma of moth-balls and skunk urine.

I believe I have the longer walk from Bosch to Mech Eng. Could be wrong though.

Am I wrong? It's still pretty damn long.

Usyd:
- the amount of time it takes to get there
- the fact that my faculty is as far away from the train station as possible
- the Pharmacy lecture theatre seats... they make you sit up really straight and they squeak, and you can't move your legs at all
- the constant lines for printers
- the fact that carslaw computer labs dont open until 9am, so you cant get in early to print stuff off before class
- The cranky librarian at Badham library that makes you look up the call number of books on reserve even though you can point directly to the book you want on the shelf behind him.
- the anal security guards at refern that always make you show your student card.... hello? why else would you get off at redfern? Its not like i dont look like a student, carrying my backpack full of textbooks!
- the ugliness of fisher library... dont we offer architecture? did no one look at the plans before it was built? in fact, there are lots of ugly buildings around...

i think thats pretty much it, aside from the universal university issues associated with persistant pamphleteers, fees, USU and horrible union food.... and the universal issue of inconsiderate smokers.

its nice otherwise though :)

Excuse me, have you seen the Macquarie library...? It's like a grey block of concrete with windows cut in, but more blocks of concrete stuck on the side. I think the architect had a hang over and woke up late for his design presentation, and instead took his child's lego house as a blueprint.

That isn't fair! My university experience rarely extends past Eastern Avenue on one side and Wentworth on the other, so the City Road divide does not exist as far as I am concerned :p.

I might as well add another issue or two:
  • The EU

That's about it, I think.

Wallace Theatre to Mechanical.

Mech Eng is further than PNR from Bosch

ok, not the best picture to demonstrate the whereabouts of PNR (btw, taken by kimmeh from RcAmaster's uni pics site) but look past those dead trees and u might see a slimpse of orange stairs (centre of pic). That leads to the PNR building. Btw, the shot is taken from the perspective of standing outside the WW building near the bio chem building. i am so crap at describing stuff :p

Edit: ooo an even better pic of PNR

strangely, i dont know from which angle that pic is taken from though

Edit2: oh wait. is that the courtyard with the library opening?
