honestly dont bother. if you're yr 12, you need all the rest you can get. if it means sleeping through class, so be it. just get the notes off someone else.

but at the same time, dont be stupid about it. try to sleep at night if you can.

That's the beauty of polyphasic sleeping. It's meant to adapt your body to allow 2-3 hours of sleep a day, and function as well as normal. In fact, the best time to study is right after a nap/sleep, and since I'll be having 6 of them a day, yeah.
(My mind is set on this)

but not REM? how do you still function?
The whole point is to adapt your body to enter REM as soon as you hit sleep. So each 20-30 minute nap will be all REM sleep. That amounts to 2-3 hours of REM per day, which is as much(and in most cases, more) then the normal amount of REM in a normal monophasic sleep.
It's the other stages of sleep that you miss out on, and they don't appear to be important.

Yeap that is true. The whole idea is to get your body to enter REM sleep asap.

But youngminii ...how are you going to stick through with this?
Every 4 hours..you sleep 30 minutes ..i don't know how you can do this at school..unless you have some sort of ..hmm free periods to take your 30 minute sleep... :jaw:

My teachers are ignorant dicks. They don't care what I do, as long as I don't disturb the rest of the class ;)

You can find No-Doz is most good pharmacies. No-Doz is a cafeine pill. Or you could get No-Doz plus which has Bvitamin group in it (natural alternative) plus the caffeine.

YOu guys are WAAAAAY too young to be considering No-Doz, at least wait till uni!

BUT if you're only sleeping 4 hours a day then you're by theory working for 20 hours a day. which is significantly more than if you were sleeping 8/9 hours a night. so even though the extra sleeping hours may not be effectively doing anything, if you spent the extra 4-5 hours not sleeping, doing work, then you're bound to get more tired and need more sleep...

I also have this problem. I tried to polyphase and my "20 minute nap" lasted for 5 hours.

lol, I never thought I'd see someone actually attempt polyphasic sleeping. send me a link to your blog or PM me when you start :)

the thing about polyphasic sleeping is that you have to sleep during the day, which is why most people cant do it. but the other thing is that during the 1st 2 weeks, people who have been going perfectly well will just oversleep and have a 8 hour "nap" and ruin everything so far and have to start again.

oh, and before you start you may want to go and watch the seinfeld episode The Friar's Club from somewhere, just so you know what can happen ;)

good luck :)

Hah, I was blogging on BoS, but I failed and I have too many assessments coming up so I'm going to stop and try again after assessments (ie. holidays)

I still remember that episode, Kramer falls asleep while having sex LOL, she thinks he's dead and dumps him in the ocean :D
