smokey is the person at the start who talks to Jacob. The bloke that wants to kill Jacob. The loophole is that when Locke died off the Island and returns, the smokey shows himself to the flight 316 crew as Locke. Now everyone (Ben, Richard etc) think that Locke has been resurrected. But this isn't true. Locke is DEAD. The Locke we have been watching since the beginning of the flight 316 crash IS the smoke monster.

What an episode...

I can't remember an episode of television as good as that, I'm not gonna bother speculating about this show anymore, it's a whole new level and Im just going to enjoy next season.

All humans that are confimed dead (off the island or on the island) ARE DEAD. DEAD IS DEAD. If they are shown alive on the Island its just the smokey monster.

Christain Shephard IS DEAD. What we saw on the Island is the smokey monster.
