There is no God.
Proteins seems complex to us.
Show a child complex numbers and they will think its 'so complex', do they assume there is a god? simply because their mind can't fathom the knowledge to understand.
Your argument is flawed in every way imaginable

Look at it this way. The scientific method says that nothing is false until proved otherwise. Following this idea, you cannot say God does not exist until his nonexistence has been proven.

The topic is too subjective to be discussed properly.

Likewise, you can't say he does exist.
But surely, SURELY if he did exist, science would have found some kind of evidence.
You think god would intervene, make himself known (if he existed).
It's highly unlikely an omnipresent, omnipotent being exists

Newton(gravity master) did.

He was really into occult sciences and alchemy. Such topics can be considered foundations for other occult (mainly pagan and hermetic) religions.
I see science and occult science on a similar level, but I'd disregard most of the modern religions that are pretty much created out of hype and the science was lost in cheap translation.

Science has only explained how things work. NOT what they are. We see atoms as vague 'blobs' that have specific functions and behaviours. We know of forces (gravity, electricity, magnetism) but not what they actually are.

Point is nothing can be disregarded as false. Just modern religions are a crock of shit.

I may still have the zip for 300ish books on occult, alchemy, etc if your interested?

No, a scientific study into proteins deemed them so complex (cos 50 odd things have to happen simultaneously for them to happen) that either they automatically have to exist or that is a God.
Uhhm could it be sine protein synthesis, not cos?

And it could be because of 3 gods. With 9 thighs. And all of them are female. ;) Nothing in any place suggests one god. Except the mistranslations people flog around.

What is occult and alchemy (im vaguely aware of this)
Pretty much 'promethean ambitions'. For the most part, philosophy of nature.

only idiots believe in creationism. The whole bible isnt meant to be taken literally. evolution is even supported by the church, just that it occured because of God.
While you cant prove/disprove the existence of God, even though countless BoS threads have tried, it seems plausible that since everything in the universe just works there is a God that organised the whole deal. I think it was Newton that said something like this.

I shared your opinion and was staunchly anti-religious untill i realise that creationism and eveolution are not mutualy exclusive, The Bible does not say how God created the animals (except for humans) and often the term "day" is used metaphorically in the bible to mean a long period of time!

The Bible does not oppose evolution
agreed. the order of creation in the 6 days according to genesis follows the same order as evolution, with humans last etc etc.

Finally some people who understand.....As I said earlier, occums razor...God mis the most simple solution...I've even heard it said but an MIT proffessor of physics (specialising in quantum mechanics), physics is just a search for god

If God was perfect and we were created in the image of God why would there have been the need for evolution? There wouldn't be he would of made everything perfect rather than needing to refine it if he was all-powerful. You can't say that evolution co-exists with God, where is the evidence that supports God's existence? There is none, so stop saying you can believe in both because they're at opposite ends of the spectrum.

No, you stop.
I am saying evolution can co-exist with god(s) And that science and religion aren't in a simple linear spectrum.
Your preconceptions about god, that we are created in his image etc, are based on some random religion, and have nothing to do with the basis of my argument.
So mine renders your point null and void.

Prolly cos if it didnt take time for us to reach our full potential and evolve and improve he would have got mighty bored, watching us unchanging millenia after millenia.

There is no evidence that god exists but in the (extremely unlikely) event he does why cant he have made us to evolve?

Because he is apparently omnipotent and thus would achieve perfection(which we are far from perfect) with one attempt rather than evolve us over time. Scientific method and religion are completely different; science involves evidence and logical understandings, religion is just based on faith that there is some superior being to us.

I think you're referring to the Christian faith? Are you an athiest?

And science is an attempt to understand how things work. When science and religion overlap most of the time it's called philosophy, which is the basis for any physical understanding we have discovered thus far. I'm sick of your generalisations.

Yes, yes I am. I'm also reffering to pretty much any religion with a single God. The one's with multiple Gods make more sense and are thus not putting infinite power into the hands of one divine being.
