Re: The Official Tennis Thread

I pity Baghdatis, forced to retire against Hewitt. I was looking forward to a great match. Still, hope he gets better :hat:

Re: The Official Tennis Thread

Apart from Nadal, does anyone actually have a better record against Federer? And Hewitt at least has 2 GS to his name, he's much more entertaining to watch than Tomic (who I think is overrated) who is extremely boring with no aggression, give me Hewitt's "CMON!!" anyday. Cant wait for 2moro night, Hewitt/Baghdatis... tipping another 5 setter.
hewitt.. exciting to watch?? he's the most (or one of the most) conservative players on tour atm - hes a counterpuncher... tomic is NOT overrated. i think hes the next big thing in aus tennis. tomic cant play agressively because he lacks strength right now. tomic reminds me of murray..constantly changing the pace of the ball, confusing the opponent.

tipping federer and henin for aus open titles (yes..i like one-handed backhanders)

Re: The Official Tennis Thread

tomic can play aggressively if he wants but he just doesnt. i dont remember tomic hitting off pace shots last year. i dont think this type of game will allow him to compete with the very best. cilic was just confused by tomics game due to his inexperience (hes only 21) with handling different situations

Re: The Official Tennis Thread

I don't think the change in the pace of the ball by tomic is intentional.. He's too sluggish to be a top 100 player. He needs to bulk up.

Re: The Official Tennis Thread

I'm becoming a big fan of Murray. He has a big future. I like Djokovic too. Not too mention Rafa and Roger. These guys are in a league of their own. (especially compared to Lleyton).
