I've always considered Minus The Bear to be Math Rock.

In any case, Wiki definitely confirms Math Rock for this album.

Apparently the band Youthmovies is also Math Rock. I would have put them more as post, but they're definitely one to check out as well.

i got character and fiction.
first time i listened thru character, didnt really like.
second time (yesterday), liked, 2 songs i 5starred, Am I 1? and My Negation (will listen thru album more to find more songs i like).
First time listening thru fiction, i 5starred nearly every song, love it lots.

Ok, so I've listened to at least part of them now. :) They're pretty good, an unusual mix of forms, but enjoyable.

Along a similar vein, also looking for Smooth/Crossover Jazz. Stuff that's either woodwind or solo brass driven. Nothing really 'big band' though.
Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album was made for late nights.

Get it!

The album I have is The Gallery. The majority of DT fans will say it's their best, so that's probably a good next one to go to.

Antony and the Johnsons would be one to check out.

Similiar, but more of an electronic feel would be:
Lights
Fuyagi and Miyagi
Octopus Project
Lykke Li
Lali Puna

I love indie-folk sounds but apart from the obvious Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale etc etc I don't have a very in depth collection of this genre. Anyone know any others?

imo london folk scene is one of the worst, Marling is an exception because she reminds me of Joni Mitchell but yeah uhh Chad VanGaalen, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Joanna Newsom, A.A. Bondy, Akron/Family, Alela Diane, Annuals, Beck, Bon Iver, Calexico, Iron & Wine, Charge Group, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Devendra Banhart, Dirty Projectors, El Perro Del Mar, Firekites, Fleet Foxes, Jenny Lewis, Laura Veirs, Lisa Mitchell, M. Ward, Monsters of Folk, My Brightest Diamond, My Morning jacket, Okkervil River, Paul Dempsey, She & Him, Silver Jews, Vetiver, Yo la Tengo.

a lot of the bands i mentioned though are more alt folk, alt country, new folk or just plain folk. indie folk is a very broad genre and i guess my definitions of what classifies indie folk is different/wrong, but yeah just pick any, they are all good
