School Rank: 267 (horrible)

AFTER HALF YEARLIES

Advanced English: 100%, 91% - 1st/16 [95.5%]
Biology: 93%, 98%, 94% - 1st/17 [96%]
Chemistry: 93%, 98%, 94% - 1st/15 [95%]
Ext 1 Maths: 96%, 84% - 4th/8 [89%]
Ext 2 Maths: 63%, 75% - 3rd/5 [71%]

Just wondering what I should be expecting to receive as my ATAR, noting that my school has a very poor rank and the classes are exceptionally small. I believe that these will be my final ranks at the end of the HSC, with the possibility of my Advanced English rank dropping to 2nd or 3rd.

** I used the hscatarcalculator from talent100 and received an ATAR of 99.25 using the [bracketed]/weighted marks. Is this an accurate depiction? As my school rank is very poor.

Cheers in advanced for the help =)

If you can maintain 1st ranks or thereabouts, 95+ is perfectly possible

Hey can someone inform me how scaling works, in regards to internal and external mark. I heard that 1st does not get affected by scaling. Also, if I come 1st in my internal mark (assessments) does that mean I receive the top external HSC mark or is that a myth?

Another question: do all students KEEP their OWN external examination mark?

yes, all students keep their own external mark, it is the internal mark that varies depending on ur rank

Firstly, your school rank is not that bad. I'm guessing the top ATAR at your school is normally someone around low 98's? (Just based on what I know of similarly ranked schools) So it looks like you are one of the top students at your school, so I'm assuming you'd get at least a 95+ ATAR?

But keep working hard, you can achieve a brilliant ATAR no matter what your school rank.
