Hi is it possible to predict my internal marks?

80/98- (75%) Economics
90/116 (60%) Chemistry (top 40-50% get band 6)
90/108-(69%) Physics (top 40-50% get band 6)
90/99- (58%) Maths Ext2 (last year the 90'th person got 88 externally)
100/166- (65%) Maths Ext1
70/90- (78%) English Ext1
100/195- (75%) English Advanced (last year over a 100 students got band 6)
Trial Marks are in the brackets.
School Rank: 4

Do not worry too much about your internal mark as they are meaningless. Every school does different assessment tasks. Since your school is in the top 4, you can achieve an ATAR of 99+. Nothing is impossible.

School marks are meaningless yes (which is what I think you mean because internal mark makes up half of your overall mark so it cant be meaningless..), but ranks are not.... (you better not be kapilan)

wtf...? They wouldnt change your internal ranking to make the school look better cos it means someone else will be ranked where OP was ranked so that wouldnt make any sense..

"whoever comes 1st in the externals gets the top internal mark"

as WRONG as this is, it may allude to what awbeyona is saying

a lot of u guys are so naive.. ive seen my school manipulate ranks to suit themselves (and very rarely me) and it is so blatantly obvious

when you point it out, though, they do get very defensive

I dont understand what you mean by manipulate ranks? The school isnt going to change your rank from 90th to 45th or something because someone else will just end up being 90th..

if my school is anything to go by, the system is completely flawed
the school does put their rep over the students potential success

students are far down the priority list

reputation and money are at the no.1 spot


ranks are being manipulated when they re sent to the BOS
and have been manipulated during the course of the year (most of the time the marks you are awarded have been predetermined)

Myself (and at least 5 others) caught my school out doing it on many occasions.. sometimes they concede to a 'fault' in the recording
other times they get absolutely defensive

its ridiculous. teachers are fucked creatures (and no im not a bitter teenager, im actually 1st in most of my subjects)

Yes, I have completed my Higher School Certificate at Sydney Boys' High School back in 2009. This is my fake account and thus it says "Hornsby Girls".

You know my school estimate ATAR was mid 80. But I ended up getting 99.25 and I think I said this before.

What you have said was correct. Whoever comes 1st in the externals gets the top internal mark. <- Not 101% true though.

Think this way. Your School Internal mark is like a bonus mark. If you do well in both, you get a really high mark.

However, if you just do well in your external, you still get a good mark but 0 bonus mark???

not to that degree, no.

but they will bring ur rank up as much as possible while remaining subtle to maximize your overall hsc and atar score to reflect well on the school.

this is, obviously, just all speculation but from what ive seen so far this seems to be the case

edit:

however, if your ranked 90/100 and ur external is 80/100 (in the cohort) they wont bother realigning ranks

its mainly with the top 10 kids

No, his mark was the highest and the rest got Band 4~5. Only this student got BAND 6...

Why? did you do so well in your school assessment?
