Hi there friends,
I am Sisir and i am planning to join UWS for Bachelor of computer engineering next year that is 2012. Well, i am basically from India. I am doing my 12yr here right now. Till my 10th i studied CBSE syllabus and then i went to a good Pre-University known by the name St. Joseph's Pre-University college to study my 11th and 12th. In this college, the syllabus is State board. I got 74% in my 10th and got only 62% in 11th. I hope to get 75%+ in 12th. Can i get admission in UWS with that marks? Is it a good university? Can i get a job with good salary after graduating from this uni? I will apply in Macquarie university first and if i don't get admission there then i will apply in UWS. In you opinion, which university is better, UWS or MU? People say that international students get admission with low marks too. Is it true? I will be under a debt of about AUD110,000 when i get out of uni so i have to join a good university so that i can get a good job with high payment to repay it. Remember, I studied CBSE only till 10th. Now i am studying State board. I am studying Physics, Chem., Math and computer science.
And one last question, In which university it is easy to get admission, MU or UWS? How much will i have to score to get into Macquarie Uni? I love MU more than UWS.
I hope to get some useful answers.
Thanks
Sisir

Assuming OP is legit, perhaps you should provide him with educated, unbiased reasons as to why he should choose one university over the other instead of repeating the same meaningless shit over and over again...

On a scale from UWS to 10, you must decide how 'badly' you want it.

UWS is not a bad university, it's just that there are other - better ones in the same area.

UWS is the newest university in Sydney and that is the reason that the suggestion is made that it is the worst. The history of the universities in Sydney shows this is a tradition. Sydney University was the first university and when UNSW began it was referred to in a derogatory way as the Kenso Tech (ie Kensington Technical College).
The next university was Macquarie Uni which was called the Clayton's University ( after the add for the Clayton's drink - ie the drink you have when you are not having a drink). The advantage in going to a newer university is that they usually work harder to give students a positive experience.

True, but have you seen some of the people doing their degrees? See: Only at UWS Facebook page.

Lebs with like.. 65 ATAR are doing their 'fully sik' law degrees. Law degrees? 65 ATAR? Really? Really?

yeh not possible no uws course is even that low the one im trying to get into is one the the lowest 68.5 and thats policing .. law and all that is high 90s just at like the other unis in sydney. SydUni just as a whole all courses are very high due to popularity not coz the education is better. Not anti that uni at all my sister just finished physio degree there but just saying uws isnt as bad as everyone thinks ...

Well, if you go on the Facebook page you'll find some guy who got like 65 ATAR, did a course in TAFE that was mildly related to Law and then was given entry into the Law degree proper.

And education you'll find varies from university to university, see the Good Uni Guide.

Sounds like a top bloke that's proved himself worthy of entry into the Law program to the uni by completing a TAFE course to make up for whatever held him back in school.

Seriously? You're basing your prejudice against UWS on what a few people have said on some stupid Facebook page?
Come on.

True Aussie battler, I'd have him over for some beers and BBQ any day o' the week, so long as it's friday-monday (life's no good without any footy to watch).
