Re: So, Gaddafi..

the basis of my argument is - anything that maintains western dominance is right. I do understand the stupidity of economic bailouts as i don't support such a globalised economy.
wow, this is a new side to wolf im seeing

i can commend your civilised responses as opposed to ur usual dismissive swearing

Re: So, Gaddafi..

That is a stupid and hollow argument.
how is maintaining western dominance stupid? I do realise how in another give or take 50 years this won't be possible due to leftist scum promoting equality among the world

why do you always say 'leftist'? what exactly do you mean by that?

extreme left?

or moderate left? (australia's political realm)

some good things have come about from communism
didnt we adopt the welfare system from it?
(or was that already established?)

also, whether or not communism failed..

i think the extreme left ideology had better intentions than the extreme right-wing

note: i said IDEOLOGY not the people running it..

right-wing fundamentalists have a 'survivalist' attitude imo..

lonelywolf upholds the benefit of western dominance as axiomatic
he's entitled to his beliefs and axioms. if he can't defend it well enough, well, it's his problem, and all you can do is shake your head.

Oh really? So monumental cock ups in Iraq and Afghanistan, where billions of dollars have been wasted, thousands of lives sacrificed and the reputation of America utterly destroyed has increased western dominance has it? Or perhaps the degradation of individual rights and liberties under the patriot act has contributed to this? Or does the prospect of rewarding corporations with the tax payer dollars of the same people they have fucked up further western dominance?

Everything I listed in my previous post does the complete opposite of maintaining western dominance. The only possible exception would be strategically supporting questionable regimes, but even this has contributed immensely to changing the way America is perceived internationally for the worse.

Come on son you've got to be joking.

this is going off topic, western dominance is right, however people like you are eroding it form its core.

no point talking about it - just like every other forum discussion on politics or religion.

i just brought it up as i wasn't able to attain anything from your previous post

and, no, you brought up a good point

everyone should be entitled to their opinion without fear of political correctness

we shouldn't force ours on anyone

lets have a peaceful discussion without any derision

(its just an innate defence mechanism when conversing with you.. u usually are quick to ride people off)

Re: So, Gaddafi..

anyway, in response to your 'western dominance'

no one bloc should be in a 'dominant' position
it just breeds corruption
power should be evenly spread to create a greater reliance and forced companionship

and, with some relevance,

i think all countries should give up their sovereignty for international law

oh you mean like pre-1914 Europe (multipolarity) and then 1919-1939 europe (internationality)? that turned out great.

personally i think that denying that video games are art is the moral equivalent of denying the existence of the armenian genocide

I'm quick ro right people off? hahahaha

You're the one calling me racist, intolerant blah blah blah

I just don't see the advantage of not asserting dominance on resourceful and weak countries. From your point of view - i can understand how you feel the need to be altruistic and all but thats a dangerous position to be in.

Re: So, Gaddafi..

I'm really starting to get pissed off at people saying they have a deep hatred for Gaddafi without any informative basis for it

"Cos the news says so.. He is a mass-murderer and is evil herrderr"

The media is the biggest propaganda machine.. (<3 u orwell)

So, besides America (and the rest of the Western world) wanting Libyan oil, why else would we get involved and his people turn on him..

Theories and thoughts: -
The West
- America wants to slowly democratise the middle-east to isolate the threat of Iran and have close trading ties for their resources

- Why isn't the Western world targeting Magabe and his iron-fist rule on his people? No current interest in resources i guess

- America planned to assassinate Gaddafi back in the 1960s and again in the 1980s... concealing their economic motives with his dictatorial rule. They cancelled their operations to do so as he reinstated trade deals and proved politically favourable against the threat of Communism. Now with no such threat, it is economically advantageous for them to wipe him out now and take full control of oil reserves

His people (my knowledge is a little hazy)
- Apparently he kept a large proportion of the country's wealth for himself... yet, i thought he dramatically improved their living standards (promising widespread housing etc)

- Mass-murderer: Killed political opposition and dissenters

Murder is reason enough to oppose people but he isnt as TERIBLE as the media portrays him to be

Their are far worse, Magabe is case-in-point.

Whilst I do support their revolution, I do not support Western involvement.

Please debate and challenge me if i am misinformed or if u have alternative perspectives.
I love hearing new opinions

Go for it!
are you Islamic

I agree with absolutely everything you said... although I hate Gaddafi so much for other reasons. This entire middle eastern "terrorist threat" is Western propaganda so that they can get their oil.
yeah guys lets make up heaps of propaganda about how all of the middle east are terrorists

and then do business with them
