I am currently at a comprehensive high school, but moving to selective next year. My marks were a bit low (not at all what i was expecting).
In order from lowest to highest.

English 87 (extremely disappointed as english is by far one of my favourite subjects)
Maths 88 (not too bad, considering i am terrible at maths!)
History 89 (was aiming for 94+ considering that this is the subject that i actually studied for and not even a band 6, pretty sad)
Science 90 (reasonably happy)
Geography 93 (surprised and happy)
Computers 99 (meh its computers )

Oh i am also attending caringbah high school next year

I thought I'd be one of the top elite students but in my school there are people who actually made it to James Ruse and Baulko though didn't go because they only did the selective test for shits and giggles.

LOL what...? They picked a comprehensive high school over Ruse/Baulko...? (assuming that they put ruse etc down on their list of schools)
Either they're lying about making it into ruse/baulko, or they're plain crazy.

Why on earth would you place yourself rank wise in a selective cohort based on SC RESULTS?! It is no measure, trust me. People don't give a shit about SC and many kids played 4 hrs of LOL, WOW and Starcraft the day before the exam. However, the school exams people study their asses off, so yeah...

This this this. Over half the grade slept halfway through most of the SC exams and didn't study at all whatsoever, and I attend a top 10 school. SC is a joke. Personally, I didn't perform well, but it was to be expected because I didn't study at all.
