huh?
Nevermind Sainteced. He's just being an idiotin medicine, if u do badly, they make u sit supplementary exams.
i think what she means is that she didnt need to sit them and got into 2nd year.
I saw on the website that it's approximately like this over the years:Oh really! well do you approx. know what atar umat combo most commonly gets people into med? in particular unsw?
nice! thanks for thatI saw on the website that it's approximately like this over the years:
UMAT ATAR
54 99.95
56 99.5
59 99.0
64 98.0
67 97.0
70 96.0
where 70 is obviously the maximum UMAT score and 96.0 is the minimum ATAR
huh? MAXIMUM?I saw on the website that it's approximately like this over the years:
UMAT ATAR
54 99.95
56 99.5
59 99.0
64 98.0
67 97.0
70 96.0
where 70 is obviously the maximum UMAT score and 96.0 is the minimum ATAR
Those scores are the raw scores, your friend got 98 for the percentile score which is different, and i don't think the atar + umat matter once ur at the interview stage, so he probe must've actually stuffed his interview up that much. Also, interviews have equal weighting as umat and atar so ur screwed if you don't do well enough in the interview which can be really hardhuh? MAXIMUM?
I still don't understand how a mate of mine with 98 UMAT + 99.75 ATAR didn't get UNSW Med. There's no way he could've bombed the interview that bad!
But yeah, another friend got in with the same stuff. Another got Griffith with 99.75 ATAR.
Hmm, another got Adelaide with 98ish ATAR and 96 UMAT.
That's not the score to get into med, those are considered the threshold scores to get u an offer for an interview. The actual combination of scorse to get into med is usually higher. Like I don't know that many people at all this year who got into med in nsw (the state, not the uni) with an ATAR less than 99.5.I saw on the website that it's approximately like this over the years:
UMAT ATAR
54 99.95
56 99.5
59 99.0
64 98.0
67 97.0
70 96.0
where 70 is obviously the maximum UMAT score and 96.0 is the minimum ATAR
It seems to be getting increasingly competitive. The thing is I don't want to make a racist rant, or comne across as someone who is just jealous but i do find it weird how a lot of the applicants seem to be asian. You would expect a bit more spread than everyone from a particular culture wanting to do med. But hey, kudos to them if they aced UMAT, HSC and interview, they deserve to get in tbh.Everybody seems to want to do Med these days. Without knowing why.
Lol. UMAT day, there were 105 absences in my year. And my school is full of Asians. No hate.It seems to be getting increasingly competitive. The thing is I don't want to make a racist rant, or comne across as someone who is just jealous but i do find it weird how a lot of the applicants seem to be asian. True that, you shouldn't do it unless you really want to.Everybody seems to want to do Med these days. Without knowing why.
How do they do that? Just by asking questions? The interview is a very important part of selection process, more so in certain unis. I think they do a pretty decent job picking out who actually wants to do MEd.
