Its one week before minis for our school, and I am wondering, how many hours do you guys recommend I should do this final week. Last week I did 8-10, I feel I am quite prepared, but still need to do alot of pastpapers etc. Do you think it is hard to go for 10 - 12 hours?

why not just set a little goal for every day. time will take care of itself.

this. 10-12 is hard to pull off day after day. Every couple of days, its not so bad. But you don't want to burn yourself out either so do whatever you feel comfortable with doing and try setting yourself goals for everyday like qwerty said because its not about the hours, its about the quality of study.

Do you mean 10-12 hours for the week or a day. If a week- go for it. If a day- don't do it. You'll learn a lot more by structuring your time effectively and allowing your brain to rest. Do say 2-3 hours in the morning, then go out or exercise or something and then do some more at night. Also, don't focus on time, do say three past papers and then call it a day. Don't feel that you have to expand your work to fit the time. If you know what you have to do, it promotes efficiency and lowers procrastination.

10 hours is alot of study !! The most effective way i developed when studying for the half yearly (for science subjects) was essentially a dot point summary (about 30 mins to an hour a day for a subject). I answered every dot point/ revised pracs making sure i knew all the theory (isn't as hard as it sounds) and the dot points i couldn't answer, i revisited in textbooks. I found it extremely helpful in pinpointing exactly what i needed to re-learn and resulted in being extremely confident for the exams. As for english, i sucked balls.
