Again no.What about between a man and many womens?
why can't it be between a man and a man? Or a woman and a woman? As marriage is between a man and a woman in my opinion.
Because Jesus said so.why can't it be between a man and a man? Or a woman and a woman?
Why can't you change the definition so that homosexuals can have the same rights?
iirc marriage, i.e. the concept of civil union, far pre-dates religionjust wondering, how can something that wasn't created by 'law' but rather ritual/religion now be changed by law. marriage has been around since the dark ages, why change its meaning? Just an idea, not hating.
hmmm, im pretty sure it wasnt created by law, i maybe wrong. also how will letting gays get married better them? what will they have that they dont already? why should a gold ring represent their 'love'? if they truly love each other then all of that means nothing, right?iirc marriage, i.e. the concept of civil union, far pre-dates religion
That question can easily be flipped around to be directed at heterosexuals.hmmm, im pretty sure it wasnt created by law, i maybe wrong. also how will letting gays get married better them? what will they have that they dont already? why should a gold ring represent their 'love'? if they truly love each other then all of that means nothing, right?
What about non-religious people that get married then? Marriage has nothing to do with religion but everything to do with property and inheritance. There's marriage in every single culture on earth and marriage predates the abrahamic religions as an institution.just wondering, how can something that wasn't created by 'law' but rather ritual/religion now be changed by law. marriage has been around since the dark ages, why change its meaning? How would gays getting married effect your life then? If you allow gay marriage it recognizes them as normal people, instead of a subgroup of society. The argument today isnt "were queer, were here, get used it," now its that the gay community want to be an accepted part of society. Giving them marriage rights will treat them the same as everyone else.hmmm, im pretty sure it wasnt created by law, i maybe wrong. also how will letting gays get married better them? what will they have that they dont already? why should a gold ring represent their 'love'? if they truly love each other then all of that means nothing, right?
anyone doubting that marriage is inseparable from heterosexuality should refer to the above ^Marriage definition: a relationship/union between a man and a woman, voluntarily entered into for life. (Aus law)
That's why there's a gay marriage debate about changing the australian marriage law. Laws are always going to change. Hell maybe we shouldn't allow women to vote because it was the law.Marriage definition: a relationship/union between a man and a woman, voluntarily entered into for life. (Aus law)

Without going into it further I just don't think it is natural. No offense intended to anyonewhy can't it be between a man and a man? Or a woman and a woman?

How does not being allowed to get married make them not 'normal people'? thats a crazy statement! they are accepted into society, many people dont care what they do; many do however, object to them getting married. If they really wanna get married that bad, go overseas and get married there. How would gays getting married effect your life then? In the end though, its a dead debate. With Abbott looking like winning this election and most likely the next, gay marriage wont be legal in Australia for at least a decade
Even if you get married overseas it still will NOT be recognized as a legal marriage under Australian law. It's not about gays forcing churches to allow them to get married there, its the recognition of a legal marriage. If you have different sets of rules for people because they are different in race, gender or sexual orientation, OF COURSE it doesn't make them "normal" as part of mainstream society, it just ostracizes homosexuals even more. How does not being allowed to get married make them not 'normal people'? thats a crazy statement! they are accepted into society, many people dont care what they do; many do however, object to them getting married. theres a difference between gays not being allowed to get married and blacks not allowed in shops or say women not to work. These are rights but is gays being allowed to get married a right? this is a never ending debate, so ill leave it at that. I dont even know and im confusing whether to support or oppose. but back on topic, ive got nothing against them having kids, theres plenty of kids that need a homeEven if you get married overseas it still will NOT be recognized as a legal marriage under Australian law.
