you do need to put in some effort (minimal, but not nil) to get good marks. usually 10 mins each week posting up random discussion questions and answering other peoples questions to guarantee full participation marks (aim for 5 questions and 5 answers each module). the quizzes are google-able or ctrl+f in the textbook-able to get 95+/100 in each of them. short answer assessment was the hardest for me, personally. essay is different for everyone, i was surprised at the mark i got for it. finals is ez if u have friends who are doing the course as well. also easy if you're soloing it.

I should be able to get good participation marks considering I spend a lot of time on online forums :haha:
Cheers for the tips

How is everyone feeling for maths tomorrow?

If we get a question like 2012 Q3 gg HD hello DN. D94 now I know exactly what you mean. That question was crazy.

Otherwise should be alright.

Yeah although tbf, I didn't care that much about algebra, so it obviously felt much harder at the time.

Pretty much all of Q3 except the first normal distribution question part and some of the 4th part is alright (1241 you do 1231 though right?)
Yeah but I've been doing some 1231 questions from 1241

pls post Q
Have you done rank and nullity of a matrix yet?

Another one is probability that would be alright for even a HSC student to do but I suck at probability unless it involves integration of some sort.

Here's the harder probability:

We roll a die successively, until we roll six consecutive sixes, in which case we stop rolling the die.
a) What is the probability we stop rolling it after the 13th throw?
b) What is the probability that we roll the die at least ten times?

Do that in 7 minutes max to be on time with the rest of the question/paper.

Using geometric distribution, and letting 6 throws in a row a single "event" with probably (1/6)^6 (or 6^-6, cos thats easier to type, sorry no latex)
Geometric=(1-p)^k-1 * p, where p=6^-6, and k is the number of trials required.

a) P=[1-6^(-6)]^12 * 6^(-6)

b) 1 - [1-6^(-6)]^8 * 6^(-6)

Not quite sure, but I think that logic will give me a few marks.

EDIT: I'm doing 1231, didn't know that was from 1241 haha, bit relieved.
EDIT2: l0l i'm wrong. fack this.
