Best thing to do is to have an identical twin and get registered into school as a single person, and make sure that one of the twins is good at maths and the other is good at English. One day, one of the twins goes to school, the next day, the other twin will goes to school. 99.95 atar will become easily achievable.
Yeah but who is given the actual certificate in the end?

I chucked all my school stuff in one pile after their exam. Now I don't want to touch those, I'm gonna realise that I did so many silly mistakes :/

Hey guys, sorry, totally off topic but I really really need to rant right now.

So I just took my French Continuers half yearly. and OH MY GOD!!!! Like literally it was a freaking disaster. It was so ridiculously hard and like I prepped massively for it (I did four full practice HSC papers, three of them timed and was fine) But this exam was like bloody uni standard or something because in the listening they spoke so fricken fast and there was virtually no time in between questions to write them down and I ended up having to go back after the last listening question to finish them off- which i've never had to do before. And the reading questions!! Literally on nothing we've covered and were so bloody hard!! I literally had to look up maybe every fourth word in the dictionary which is a huge waste of time. I didn't end up finishing the reading because with half an hour to go i still had three questions and a writing task to do. So I stopped the reading to do the writing task and then I didn't even finish the writing task because I struggled to find an idea to write about under the time constraints!

I'm literally so angry about it and I initially thought it was just me but I was talking to the girl who was ranked first and she said she ended up with ten minutes to do her writing task at the end because she didn't understand the reading questions and had to look up heaps in the dictionary - she's like semi-native speaker too (Algerian but her fam speaks Arabic and only a little French) so like... this test was ridiculously friggen hard and when we said it to the teacher after the exam she goes

"I thought I'd make it a little harder so you'd be prepared for trials"

LIKE NO. I DID HSC PAPERS THINKING THAT I WAS OVER PREPARING BECAUSE THEY WERE HSC PAPERS AND WE'RE ONLY AT HALF YEARLIES!!

I'm just really angry rn.

Yeah everyday I wake up I swear I can recall possibly making a silly mistake in one of my exams

And it will haunt me for the next three weeks (inb4 I lose 21 marks in the one test)

Don't worry I'm sure you did fine overall :D

In these situations you have to keep in mind that rank is important and not your actual mark, so if others found it difficult you may have done comparatively well because there are legit situations where a 50% can give you first in the grade (fullsrs)

I have a question. There's two people in my IPT class (including me), I'm currently coming first because the other student just doesn't even care. I didn't do "great" in my IPT half yearly today and I got depressed. Does it matter or what's important is that I'm coming first?

some exams can't even be prepared for!! I know what you mean, teachers increasing difficulty= them increasing a lot
however, I think the exam put everyone doing that sub in the same situation

I will be so lucky to get at least 50% for this test I swear... I wanted 85% and i actually managed to get it for my speaking and now i'm just here like #hscyalater

I just hope it doesn't drag down my ranking because as far as i know I'm the only one that didn't finish!

did your schools finish the whole topic before exams started? We didn't finish everything and I had to quickly understand stuff by looking at past notes which had trouble sinking into my brain properly

I'm pretty sure that it's your rank that matters

Nonetheless you should continue to aim for good marks :)

Damn

My school usually finish everything on time but usually for the sciences we don't entirely complete the final section of the module, such as how we didn't finish the entire esterification section in acidic environment
