About Me;
Hey everyone! My name is Chris.

I am a qualified Physics and Chemistry teacher and have been teaching for the past TEN YEARS. I am an experienced HSC marker for Physics. I was also a presenter at last years Science Teachers Association 'Meet the Markers' conference for HSC Physics.

I specialise in tutoring HSC Physics + Chemistry to small groups of capable students

My group sessions are aimed towards Band 5/6 students and are not suited for students struggling with HSC Sciences. If you are struggling with either Physics or Chemistry and are interested in tuition, please contact me for 1-to-1 availability and rates. .

So, if you are interested, please contact me at chris@sigmascience.com.au, visit the website link in my signature to find out more, or visit my YouTube channel to find out if my teaching style is for you.

Now, some shameless self promotion:

Why Choose Me?

  • I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching Physics for 10 years and Chemistry for 5 years.
  • I am not just a high achieving student, I am a high achieving teacher who produces high achieving students!
  • I am an experienced HSC Marker, so I know exactly what YOU need to do to ensure maximum marks in your responses.
  • Compared to most other tuition providers, I am relatively cheap whilst my groups are relatively small (Cost $70 (+GST)/lesson, class size maximum of 14)
  • I have an immense amount of high quality resources which I make available to all of my students, including many resources that other tuition providers do not have access to.
  • Whilst I will never do your assessments for you, I provide feedback on draft assignments in order to help you score those extra marks.
  • My services do not finish once you finish the weekly 2 hour lesson -- I am available via email, WhatsApp and phone pretty much all the time, I spend many hours each week helping students with questions, assignments, proof-reading notes and preparation for upcoming assessment tasks, all at no further expense
  • I am not a dictator, I try to provide a supportive environment where thoughts and opinions are encouraged to be shared. If you want to reap the most benefit from my classes, the onus is on YOU to contribute
  • I enjoy teaching, so I try to make learning interactive and fun (The occasional science teacher/father joke is told.. Pity laughs are encouraged..)
  • I know many little tricks to help you score those extra marks on examinations and assignments
  • Students look forward to coming to class
  • Teaching is my passion, not just a way of making extra income.

Recent Achievements:

  • My HSC 2018 tutor students achieved some amazing results, several students achieved the perfect ATAR of 99.95! 75% of students achieved a Band 6 in HSC Physics and many of my students came first in their respective schools. One stand out achievement was from a student who ranked in the bottom 10% of their school cohort for Year 11, ending up finishing 2nd in their cohort!

  • My HSC 2016 tutor students again achieved some outstanding results, with 90% of students achieving a HSC mark of 85+ in HSC Physics. Two of my students achieved the perfect ATAR of 99.95!

  • My HSC 2015 tutor students achieved outstanding results with all students achieving a Band 5 or Band 6 and 95% of students achieving a mark of 85+ in HSC Physics. Including one student who achieved the enviable ATAR of 99.95.

  • My HSC 2014 Physics tutor students saw dramatic improvement from Year 11, including one student improving from a rank of 114th in Year 11 to a final rank of 2nd in Year 12 at Baulkham Hills High School (HSC Mark - 95) and another improving from 44th to 5th at Girraween High School (HSC Mark - 93)

  • My 2013 school physics class achieved 6 x Band 6's including a state rank of 7th (Exam Mark: 99 - Would have been outright 1st in the state if he wasn't ranked 3rd at the school) and another student who was top 40 in the state. (Not bad for a public, comprehensive school ranked in the mid-300s!)

  • 20% of My HSC 2014 school students (non-selective school) achieved a Band 6 (9% of students state wide).

  • 100% of My HSC 2015 school students (at non-selective schools) are ranked first in Physics at their school.

Guys, don't waste your money on expensive tutoring centres like Matrix and Talent100, go Fizzycyst. His amazing teaching, dedication and small classes will ensure that you'll succeed and hopefully land you that state rank but it's not going to work unless you put in the hard yards, so put in the hard yards, go to this tutor and pretty much your guaranteed a band 6 (and I mean put in countless hours of studying physics every week...like at least 20) :)

Congratulations to my 5 Baulkham Hills High Students who all ranked in the top 10 in their recent Half-Yearly Physics Examination!
Including the student who came 1st in the task overall and a student who was ranked 51st at the end of Year 11 moving into the top 10!
Their awesome efforts were rewarded with an impromptu pizza session yesterday. My shout

Thanks for the pizza. Sadly I was vegan, and couldn't enjoy any.

Just finished writing a 55 page booklet for one of my classes for their upcoming astrophysics assessment task!

Hopefully this can help them all achieve their personal bests again!! #allinthetop10baby ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
