Technically, they are not. Depends on lecture location.

The vast majority of lecture theatres have the capacity for lectures to be recorded. There's a reason lectures are held there.

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016

I'm panicking a bit... Do ACCT1511 lectures get uploaded to echo360? I was not planning on going to them but I can not find anything on moodle
Are you saying that on the moodle page for this subject that there is no button that directs you to Echo360 or just that the lecture recording is not in Echo360?

If it's the former, here's what i have done to get around this in the past.

If you go the main moodle page for the subject in question, the URL will look something like this http://moodle.telt.unsw.edu.au/course/view.php?id=22764. Copy the corresponding number in the URL for the subjects page. Then access Echo360 for another subject and paste the 5 digit number into the echo360 url.

All Echo360 pages will have a URL that looks like this :http://moodle.telt.unsw.edu.au/blocks/echo360_echocenter/echocenter_frame.php?id=22764. You'll notice it has the same number as the previous URL, i assume this is a course code or something. All you have to do is change the number at the end of the Echo 360 URL to match the number of the course that you don't have access to and it will redirect you to any recordings

I hope this helps and sorry of this answer is a little convoluted

Acct1511 lectures definitely don't get recorded lmao (well at least they won't post the recordings)

They said all lectures are recorded automatically. The lecturer has to actually manually request for them NOT to be uploaded/recorded so they don't show up.

Just ask the lecturer or on the forums.

Tronnes explained the alternative to posting lecture recordings in the first lecture. I just forgot what exactly it was.

I think that was the "Active Learning Platform A" function on moodle

Re: UNSW chit chat thread 2016

Does anyone know why I can't get into the 'new mailing' system UNSW uses-I have tried typing in 'zID@ad.unsw.edu.au' with my zpass-but it says it doesn't recognise the email and revert back to the zmail which is quite annoying. I am worried I am missing out on important emails if I don't find a way to access my new inbox soon.

The old email account login required the use of a different password. Make sure you are using zpass.

Check if you can login to myUNSW and moodle. If you are having troubles there, you may need to change a few things in identity manager.

Conjecture: there is a typo on that website saying zID@ad.unsw.edu.au is for students and zID@zmail.unsw.edu.au is for alumni. I think it's the other way around.

Make sure you are logging in with zID@zmail.unsw.edu.au and password being your zMail password. It may not be the same as zPass but it could be.

Follow the prompts on https://password.zmail.unsw.edu.au/ to change your zMail password.

No, do not listen to the misinformation above.

The new email uses @ad.unsw.edu.au with your zPass. @zmail.unsw.edu.au is the old email for current students, and the correct email login for alumni since alumni emails will not be ported over to the @ad.unsw.edu.au email address.

Do not login using @zmail.unsw.edu.au, and do not send any more emails via @zmail.unsw.edu.au. All your current emails sent to @student.unsw.edu.au or @unsw.edu.au will be directed to the @ad.unsw.edu.au inbox.

When schools ask you to do things for free, i.e. volunteer, is this a good thing? Like, can I put this on a resume or linked in?

Pretty sure you can-but it depends on what type of job it is to determine what kind of value it can add to your resume.
