we're doing a little analysis of a single body paragraph on the poem spring hail, and we have to explain how the poem conveys ideas about the human condition.
i've done this so far:
The poem metaphorically explores the abandonment of childhood puerility within the human essence, taken together with the inexorability of time. It conveys these ntions through vivid and heavily symbolical imagery, particularly in the description of the peach that is consumed by the subject. The peach is described in a melancholical tone, adducing a paradoxical contrast between the sweetness of the peach and the weeping of the peach. Imagery of overripeness implies that the subject is indeed too grown up to continue his childhood ways, and thus the way he is absorbing certain experiences has changed in virtue of his slowly-aging perspective.
