Doesn't it have to be zero unexplained absences, but those with a reason it doesn't matter. SO if your sick for 3 terms it doesn't matter (for examples sack, you'd probably repeat be choice) but you can't just wag and get caught? Thats how it was explained to us, but I think if you had a reason...

Depends what the disadvantage is. You don't get it automaticaly, but if you have a disability maybe.

And Chem still scales fairly well.

It shows... But yeah, we can tell what year your in from looking under your username. You can change the date by going to your profile. Both Pysics and Chem are good subjects, but it depends on your interests. I've found Physics more fun, and Chem harder.

You can take up Senior Science in Year 12 if you did a science in Prelim. Otherwise TAFE offers some courses that only take 1 year for both Prelim and HSC. You can do your whole HSC at TAFE, but I'm not sure about switching just in the HSC year, as the TAFE may not offer all the subjects you...

Yeah, a lot of people at my school had that problem last year. It turned into a huge battle between the students, the guy who was running it and the parents, simply because the majority of people were not getting the subjects they wanted. It would have been much worse, but my school offers a lot...

So wait, is this the same assesment, or two different ones? In what form did you get each mark i.e. did he tell it to you or was it on something official? You may find that if your head teachers won't listen to you they might if you tactfully mention getting the BoS involved.

Doubt it, but you may wish to look into online courses. You can do those at your own pace, but you have to be fairly self motivated and independant.

I think what he means is, you don't have to drop a science to take up SSci. e.g. if you studied Phyics for Prelim, you can still study it for HSC and take up SSci as well. But I think that's what you meant in the first post.

Yeah, much of the stuff you learn in Year 10 won't be in the SC, but will be important for Year 11. I found 7-10, if I didn't get on with my teachers, they would hate me, but for some reason I would do just as well in the class ;-) Year 11 though, had to fix that up. If you have cool...

I've stopped caring about school report by now. Everything my teachers write seems to be inverse to the marks I receive, and whether I get an A or D for 'effort' on some generalised scale doesn't concern me. Not that I'm saying people who do go for those things and do well at them are losers...

Yeah, they are called 'study' periods at my school as well, but we can leave if we want, so its alright. I get 3 a week, 75 minutes each. I do 12 units, but 2 are ext maths + eng, so I have one 1 line free. Only probs is 2 lunch time lessons a week, but it ain't so bad.
