    semester 2 timetables

I thought your timetable was some sort of sick joke, then I noticed the week numbers. Funny though, PHAR4931 will have more hours in that one week than each of my subjects will have for the entire semester. Enjoy.

    ITT: FML I hate uni.

you can talk the talk but can you walk the walk? next semester will be exactly the same

    Study in North Korea

might not be such a wise idea if you're from south of the border

    Laptops in Lectures!

It's definitely not 'common' in my lectures, but there are a few people who swing that way.

Do you have to repeat 1st year?

Depends, it would be your second year at university, but your subjects could be a mix of first and second year. I did the same and it's only now that I can start doing exciting second year things. Take a look at the course guides online and see how similar the subjects are. You might be lucky...

Do you have to repeat 1st year?

When you transfer they'll tell you what subjects will count at UTS. It could be all, none, or some. Chances are you'd be stuck in first-year limbo, not quite first, not quite second.

    Linguistics Advice

Well there's Language Acquisition like you said, and also Computer Applications in Linguistics, but I don't meet pre-requisites for either. I think I'll probably stick with Phonology for now, but thanks a lot for the info!

    semester 2 timetables

    upgraded to full-time

    Linguistics Advice

I've already done over a year of first year subjects including non-arts, so I think it's best to move on from there. Thaaaaaank you. Unfortunately Syntax is only offered in first semester this year, but I shall definitely be considering Phonology now.

    Linguistics Advice

I've done Structure of Language (1001) this semester and have Language in Context down for second semester, but due to complicated reasons I can't do any more than two more junior subjects and don't want to be part-time. Second year Phonology only has 1001 as a prerequisite so I'm guessing I can...

    semester 2 timetables

mhmm...not sure if philosophy is my thing. Which celtic unit were you looking at doing? I think CLST2607 - Modern Irish Linguistics looks interesting, but it isn't very specific in how much prior knowledge they assume.

    semester 2 timetables

I'm in the second year of my first year. I transferred from a combined degree into the single arts degree, so I'm kinda stuck in first year limbo. I'll go pose the question in general chat as you suggested.

    semester 2 timetables

I don't think I can do any more junior units. Are there any second semester subjects without specific prerequisites that you'd like to recommend? I've considered Celtic Studies, but unfortunately most of what I'm studying is languages, which makes it hard to start something new half-way through...

    semester 2 timetables

I'd go full time, but I can't do any second year french or linguistics subjects yet. I also have athletics training with the uni on tuesday and thursday nights, which is why I've left those classes there. I'll probably end up moving my french tute around so that I get my previous amazing tutor.

    pretty hectic timetable

    engineering-->engineering/science at usyd

I would have guessed no, but I'll leave it for someone else to confirm it 100%.
  19. W

So how many days do you spend in uni per week?

Next semester I have about 6 hours. Part-time arts is pretty intense.

What course should I enrol in at uni?

Which area would you enjoy more? I'd go for that one.
