Re: You didn't study after today's exam ? I've done absolutely nothing.

Oh you're involved in a theatre company? Nice! Are you acting in it as well? How'd you get into it? I'm glad I studied the Laramie Project, better than the other prescribed texts imo. Going to try and watch more plays like that after the HSC. I also auditioned for something using a monologue...

    Context in Hamlet?

Were you meant to refer briefly to Elizabethan values(connected to your thesis) and then state its relevance today? Or did it make no difference?

    Hamlet

Was what I wrote too simplistic?Would I lose marks here? I basically said that Fortinbras's arrival, as an outsider, signified the end of the play - by being untainted by corruption, the place therefore resolves itself as there is no more dilemma. Then I went on to say that this idea conveyed...

    Onstage!

Does the time of nominations vary each year? I was wondering if I could have been nominated, but no news yet. But looking from the thread, it seems that they come out every September? edit: googled it - they did come out in September.

    Drama Marks

So how did the onstage people know they got full marks(or 29/30) for their HSC performance?

    Anyone applying for NIDA?

I totally agree. And from everyone that I've asked, they've said that it is really recommended to try out in your early twenties anyway.

    Hamlet

Started to get a bit freaked out until I read this. Thank you! That's what I did. I didn't even quote the excerpt provided...because tells you to make a response to the closing SCENES and not the scene in question. I think they just put that quote there to either throw students off, or to help...

    Advanced English vs Extension 1

It really just helped in developing my skills of analysis, as well as looking at context, values and ideas. It really is quite similar to advanced... I'm glad I chose it though - it forced me to refine my essays.

So since it's all over, thoughts on raw marks for band 6?

Was their paper regarded as difficult?

    BOS has no idea...

I reckon it was worth it lol. I hate poems with a passion. I reckon Hamlet was the best choice.

How do you manage to stop messy handwriting?

It's really annoying because to write the amount of words that I come up with, I have to increase the speed of my handwriting and it becomes illegible. How do some people write so much yet keep their writing neat? There is a kid in my school who does 3-4 booklets per question(normal sized...

    BOS has no idea...

They do, don't they? When I was in year 8 or something they made 'literacy' a compulsory subject, which taught just that

    Illegible writing

Do most HSC markers actually give a lot of effort in order to read the illegible writing, to maximise the students' marks? Or after awhile do they just see it and think, "Illegible" and just move on giving a mark on what they can see?

General Thoughts: English Advanced Paper 2

Re: WORSE PAPER EVER MADE .... Thoughts? A - was ok. B - did better than most. C - okay. Then again, my perception of how I do in exams is screwed up lol.

Do you have strict supervisors for your HSC exams? Yes or No?

Name? What?? I thought that this was not allowed at all.
