    Medicine Experience

Whilst I do agree. It always looks better to have your foot inside the door than outside. It is probably too late for a hospital placement at this stage so embellish other aspects.

If you get offered interviews interstate

One of my student was offered a Monash interview in late January after offers for NSW universities came out. He got UNSW medicine so he didn't attend the Monash interview. Unless you have a firm offer in NSW and you are sure you want that particular university instead of attending somewhere else...

Difference between Med and Adv Science for Medicine?

Nw. I majored in Biochemistry and Microbiology and did first year Chemistry and did second year Immunology and Genetics. I remember clearly only 1 or 2 questions on Immunology and the rest were second year Chemistry, Physics (they say year 12 but I did physics in year 12 and didn't see anything...

No I entered through grad program hence why I'm giving this advice.

Difference between Med and Adv Science for Medicine?

Only if you major in chemistry in second year I agree. Otherwise medical science helps better prep you but it also depends on which majors you take up in your advance science degree which I mentioned above. I didn't pick anatomy, physiology which would have definitely helped in the biology...

Difference between Med and Adv Science for Medicine?

Medical science prepares you better for the GAMSAT as it covers a range of majors which will be tested in GAMSAT. Med science is almost a dead end degree if you don't get into a graduate course unless you choose to do honours etc. Adv Science may prepare you less well for the GAMSAT and...

    UMAT Preparation Advice

UMAT is a threshold for some universities and some universities use it for ranking. It varies university to university. I suggest you actually do more research on the career itself than do research for UMAT. I know of a friend who was adamant he wanted neurosurgery from his undergraduate course...

    Asian as SLP?

Oh if it's speech and language pathologist they may actually have a stronger bias especially if you have an accent.

    Asian as SLP?

It varies from company to company. Generally it shouldn't be like that but I don't have much experience in the health industry yet to give you a good idea.

    Asian as SLP?

If you don't have a PR most companies are reluctant to hire you because they don't want to risk training you up and losing you. So get a PR or citizenship.

    UWS Medicine - employment prospects?

It depends what you do after you graduate. Everyone is guaranteed 2 years employment before having to apply. It comes down to networks really and further training depends on what other things you have done. UWS actually input a lot more money into their training facilities and they are newer...

crappy 92 what can I do

If you choose a challenging field in any degree it'll be difficult to get into. Dermatology only takes about 3 doctors per year and once you're in a medical degree the competition level skyrockets as everyone is pretty much brilliant in some way or another so you must consider this before...

    Research Experience.

I would be more inclined to write things I have done outside my course or extra course work which other students didn't get to do.

crappy 92 what can I do

GPA requirements aren't necessarily high for graduate medicine 6.0+ GPA would be ideal. As for podiatry I am not sure if you can transfer credit points, usually you can't for medicine or dentistry. And you are right podiatry has great job prospects compared to medicine and dentistry. If you...

    Medicine Experience

No use comparing yourself to others at this point in time. Do your best to boost your CV if not focus on your exam scores and if you get an offer, practice hard for the interview. If you don't get in this time round then you know where you need to make improvements.
