14 hour shift in medicine FML

Photo or it didn't happen, very hard to believe. Outside the hospital grounds in surrounds maybe but that's a bit much. In any case, troll or ignorant, probably time to quit feeding and pull the plug on this one.

14 hour shift in medicine FML

Not sure if trolling but I'll answer seriously... One does not leap from intern to Registrar. You become a resident at the hospital you intern at before applying for another resident year at a hospital. What institution you graduate at has no bearing on consideration for college positions.

14 hour shift in medicine FML

So far I've not been asking for payment of unrostered OT simply because some of the time I was new and therefore just slow. Not workload related. Nowadays we've settled and we've been told (at least the interns in our department) by our ATs to start asking for OT since it's the only way the...

14 hour shift in medicine FML

I think I hit nearly 70 working hours last week in 5 days with 1 rostered overtime shifting and making up the rest going overboard with unrostered. It's not so much the length of time that was exhausting but the amount of stuff that built up during the day including getting paged repeatedly both...

    Happened to anyone?

Pretty much just this. You really need to be careful about road positioning at intersections where often the lanes on the other side may not line up even if you're going straight.

    Bond University

I'd ignore this post. Bond graduates are fine, I work with them and they're just like everyone else.

    2015 UAC med offers

    Pretty much this.

What car will you get as your first car?

The Liberty, I need thicker sway bars :p
  9. Havox

What car will you get as your first car?

And tires, I put 75% wear on a set of tires in a single session. A track session costs me around 600AUD including all costs.

What car will you get as your first car?

I haven't gone in about a year, for me last year during study was the cash commitment. Now with work, I don't think I'll have the time nor can I risk damaging my daily driver.

Can you be a doctor without an atar of 99.95

Yeah...No. All the graduates are pretty even no matter where they come out of.

    Medicine worth it?

Strictly speaking "Dr" isn't a protected title in Australia, medical practitioner is so really, anyone call themselves Dr.
  13. Havox

    Medicine worth it?

Ignoring the non-responses... Did my first day as an intern today. That's a good start, medicine is probably one of the most applicational fields of biology. That sounds really high, where are you planning to study? As a Commonwealth Supported student in a valid institution, it shouldn't...

What car will you get as your first car?

The new Veloster turbo has a matte grey finish and the E92 M3 had a shortlived Frozen Gray edition which looked sick. Serem had a very cool C250D which he was generous enough to let me have a go with once. :)
  15. Havox

What car will you get as your first car?

Depends on the car, could be worth it for an MX5 if you found the right one.
  16. Havox

Transferring after one year of medical science?

Graduate only. Postgraduate studies aren't the same thing.

Going to RSL with Japanese Rising Sun flag bag?

That's like saying Germany these days is cool but imma go rock dem swastikas yo. It isn't the country that the issue is with, but what the flag symbolises. The "rising sun" or Japanese Imperial naval ensign is still very much a taboo image in Japan and it's offensive to those who've served to...

Am I alone in hating airplane food?

I actually don't mind their business model, I don't mind that the IFE costs money since I don't use it anyway, I only carry-on and if that means the cost savings are passed on to me without detriment to the quality of the furnishings and the level of service with the aircraft then I'm happy. I...

Am I alone in hating airplane food?

I think that's a little unfair. The Air NZ offering is still a full service mid tier carrier with both their hard product and soft product but with their recent removal of First Class cabins they can no longer be considered a top tier, luxury carrier. The lines are getting blurred, Virgin...
