    there is something fiendish about maths everytime i think ive got something down pat, someone demonstrates that i dont. its not fair :( i should be able to be consistently competent. i havent even seen that type of question dealt with like that. if i ignore it will it go away?

    pfft my school's name is already dirt i couldnt possibly make it worse. and thats my problem... the formal is serious. i dont know, something inside me really chafes at the idea. but i dont think anyone is going to miss my absence from the formal and i never had money for cabs in yr 10...

    Well no i dont think they could just ban me from the formal - i didnt hurt anybody. but some of the year are taking the formal deadly serious now, and i prolly would have upset someone if i did anything like that :D and its really hard to dance when you put the head on - u can hardly see...

    Hehe i was asked very politely not to come to yr 12 formal if i was not going to take it seriously...(didnt want to anyway) yr 10 formal, i was dared to go in a giant pink bunny suit. so i did. i thought it was pretty funny. principle never talked to me again :)

    so whats the mass of deuterium (compared to helium's 1.00778 u)? its 2.01645 u isnt it? because thats what i got, but the answer provided is lieing to me :mad1:

    I thought someone already answered this Power remains the same (initial vI=final vI), its just if voltage in second coil goes up, current goes down - therefore no new energy. is that what you meant?

    Ok i am really shaky on this... I know the defect becomes the binding energy, but how do you actually determine the mass defect in a nuclear equation? eg 2H + 2H --> 4He 1___1____ 2 I have an answer but i cant see how to get it :(
