you're right it gives an indication based on last year's performance of your school. however it has no impact on the 2008 UAIs of your cohort. hope that helped :)

hahaha basically school rank is simply an indication of the performance of your school in a given year. it's only relevant to the year for which it was calculated. as school ranks are calculated after we get our results, they have no bearing whatsoever on UAIs.

BOS people do have lunch, staff breaks etc, which take up a few hours out of the day. 4 people may not be calling. It could be less. Each call may take more than 15 minutes depending on how quickly they get onto some people, re-calls, explanations, etc. I agree with namu...

Nice empathy for those who have been built up for this all year by teachers, school expectations, and who have worked their asses off to attain a goal. You could be a bit more considerate.

I agree. All of those calls would take quite some time. Plus they may need to recall a few times for some people who don't answer...If they started this morning around 10am, surely they couldn't be completely finished given the scale of the notifications. Maybe some calls will go out tomorrow...

Would they call on weekends? namu said something about how the BOS does call on weekends for some things (can't remember exact details). There's a chance that they haven't been able to get through to some people and may call tomorrow in order to notify them of the ceremony. If not, oh well...

I think he means that if you haven't got a call today then you may get one later this afternoon or tomorrow sometime - that just because some people have received calls doesn't necessarily mean all people have been notified. Remember there are nearly 100 subjects to get through.

Damn. Oh well. You could have gotten other ranks, though.

hear hear. yes, it would be effin sweet to get a rank, but really, none of this will matter this time next year. we'll be in uni or doing what we love and the hsc & state rankings will be a thing of the past. in uni no one cares about state rankings anyway; it's a whole new standard.
