It's pretty hard not to stress over things like this when it's only three days to go... Yeah, moderators on this site seem to confirm that view. Also, do you guys think that teachers who have had HSC marking experience are necessarily more accurate in their internal marking?

So, three days to go and I'm fretting over my marks like everyone else. But my main concern is how my school marked compared to the HSC marking centres. Internally, I am on high 90s for all of my subjects except one for which I am on 90. I am worried that my marks don't correlate with HSC...

haha yeah i don't think anyone can honestly say they gave 100% the whole year, it's too hard to maintain that level of effort without burning out so parties it is <3

...SAM isn't reliable until you know your HSC marks on Wednesday. And even then it won't always be reliable as it's based on 2005 data. So I don't use it, it just gets my hopes up. Also, without taking rankings into consideration your UAI estimate becomes even less reliable. Don't stuff around...

Yeah, my Ext teacher sounded certain that internal marks were used to differentiate between external ties...If it was ranks then how would they differentiate? Most people who gain an external mark worthy of a state rank are already ranked 1st within their cohort anyway. But I can see what dp624...

yeah i am envisioning a sleepless night, definitely...i don't even know what i'll do to distract myself. reading will fail because i won't be able to concentrate. probs just toss and turn, and a little bit of bos sprinkled in between haha

haha. I think if I had one of those I'd go crazy waiting. I prefer to think of it as 3 days away, no matter how mathematically incorrect that belief is :P

i didn't give up anything for my hsc until the actual final exams. went to parties, hung with friends, visited my sydney friends. i'm not a "Ohmygod HSC I have to drop my entire life" kinda person.

I'm certain internals are considered when there's an external mark tie. My Ext teacher told us that that's also why internal marks are sent to the BOS along with internal ranks - not just to find the relative differences, but to distinguish between external ties? Ha! Even I'm not that obsessed :P

If there's an external mark tie, they look for the highest internal mark. Then if they are tied...I think both get the same rank? (In Society one year a few people tied.) I don't think for Modern they sit around and compare responses - i remember someone in my class asked if they did and my mod...
