hahaha yours is insane :p ours is just competitive in a few subjects - 2/3/4u maths, chem, phys, modern history, advanced english, drama and visual arts. everything else is virtually fine. we have topped the state in Drama a few times, so competition there is INTENSE - probably more so...

Damn, that sucks. :( I'm lucky my school doesn't decide dux until after the UAIs are released. People with UAIs over 90 have to 'apply' for dux by showing the school their uai and the highest gets it...Takes the pressure off, definitely.

The course I'm aiming to get into accelerates you through 1st year uni; effectively, you study 2nd year units in the first year. It doesn't require an interview - just UAI.

dangit well you could be surprised; to use an old adage: you never know. I'm going for an Advanced course at usyd but no interviews required- UAI only acceptance vehicle. don't know whether that's better or worse, hah.

haha it must feel so good knowing your responses are of that calibre. my Modern, Extension and Advanced teachers have marked the HSC for years but they refuse to divulge HOW they mark - easier, etc.

Wow. Anal retentive. My Modern teacher seems a little like that; she has been a HSC marker for years and rarely gave full marks for internal exam responses. She marked harder on the Core Study (WW1) than any other section as the whole state does it. Maybe she morphs into an easier marker when...
