Any comments on this? In light of what you've told me, dp, I don't think it's correct. If 82/105 aligned to 90/100, does that mean the mark out of 100 raw (40% Paper 1 and 60% Paper 2) was less than 80? That can't be right, to get a band 6...

97+ in History (Modern; I think Ancient's a bit higher, maybe 98+) 96% (48/50) in History Extension can attain a state ranking too, as 50 is hardly ever achieved.

I'm pretty sure state rankings don't appear on these links, just individual HSC results. The BOS releases State Rankings in the 2008 HSC archive- so you'd be F5ing Home - Board of Studies NSW and go from there to the link, namu.

yeah, I understand this, theoretically. But I have trouble applying it to subjects like Advanced where the maximum raw mark is 105 and the max aligned is 100. Sorry, I lack mathematical logic; I'm a literacy/history buff.

Yeah, of course. But in the case of Advanced English, how do they create the aligned marks if the exam is out of 105 raw? People on this thread have suggested different ways to meet this end and I'm confused as to which would be correct.

I don't think any phone calls went out today. When someone gave the example of a call for Music on the Monday two years ago, the recipient may not have picked up on the Fri/Sat and/or the ceremony may have been scheduled for later in the week than the 2008 one. I think calls finished Sat, except...

Don't the SMS results come out a few mins past 6am, usually? Last year the HSC results opened at 5:50am - so you could be caught in a system crash or something if you rely on the text to come in at the right time. ehhh i'm being pedantic, do what you want :p

Re: UAI Countdown same. I don't like JUAI as much as Einstein - from what I've read in previous years' threads it seems to be comparatively less accurate. But yeah, results take most of the stress away for me!

yeah I agree. They wouldn't receive access to our results before WE got them, surely.

@ op: I hardly think the desire for a UAI estimate is warranted at this stage of your schooling. stop worrying and wait til you've at least finished all your internal assessments; that presents a more accurate picture of your abilities than merely one or two assessments.

Hold on, this is what I thought too. What's all this talk of percentages out of 100 and then aligning that? I'm confused! That would constitute an entirely different system of aligning compared to other subjects!
