What is your main reason for doing maths Ext 2?

Other - because I wrote it down on a little piece of (green?) paper And because of a million other reasons that, if I were to tell them, you'd all think I am mental...

    HSC people of 2006

Well I was way off the mark.

    What distractions are you facing?

    - this forum -_-' - sibling - "come and play with me! come and play with me!" - parents - "shouldn't you be studying?" I AM studying! This book is for English! - etc.

    HSC people of 2006

Well that makes about a hundred thousand of us. ... Actually, I have no idea how many people are doing the '06 HSC. :p

What sacrifices will you be making for the HSC?

Well, if anything, I've been coming on the 'net more and more (blame BOS :p ). Don't watch that much tv nor am very particular with the phone (mobile, on the other hand, is a different story :D Damn just got my last mobile bill :( ) Agree with the social part. Other sacrifices will probably...

    HSC people of 2006

OMG Bookie got called a sweety. But then, this IS the first time I've actually seen him posting as someone who could actually, possibly, just maybe, be a nice kid. :jaw: What you should do: study How do you start: open the book When you should start: the night before the HSC exams, if the...

    Who got holiday Homework :)

Have a pile of work to do (i.e. all of term 4's work that I didn't do due to procrastination and thinking "I have the holidays..."), revision of prelim stuff for maths, and have assessment in 2nd week back. And then there's the half-yearly's at the end of term 1! Argh!

What would you like to see on BOS 2006?

I second that. The little crosses in the boxes are annoying. :(

Graphing functions with x in the denominator

To summarise what Riviet said (ok, I admit it, I just skimmed it. Sorry! ) where function is +ve/-ve/0 domain/range increasing/decreasing odd/even asymptotes any points of discontinuity? Basically, just look at equation, figure out odd/even, asymptotes, and intercepts...

    Meet up!

Haha, I live way closer to Brissie than Sydney. You lot have fun. :)

    Ever got into a fight?

Yah, few times. No blood or broken bones or anything like that though. But still, roll around (high-school), chuck a stick at someone (primary school). Lol. Females are not supposed to fight, are supposed to be "lady-like", so at least I'm not the only one 'fessing up. :p

    Preliminary Maths ext.1

Not really. I did 13 units, and I know plenty of people who did 13 units, and some who still do. It's actually an advantage in that you can drop the course anytime during Prelim if failing, etc., such as my friend who did on the day of a major assessment task. But that was Extension...

    2u Mathematics Marathon v1.0

Maths is unique in the sense that all topics covered (or meant to be covered according to the syllabus :p ) in Prelim's AND HSC are testable (is that a word?) in the Maths HSC exam, whether 2 unit or 3 unit.

    Preliminary Maths ext.1

School's out now, but your teacher would've had a good idea whether or not you're capable of 3-unit. Like someone said before, 3-unit makes 2-unit seem heaps easy, so if you really struggle in extension and decide to drop (which I'm sure won't happen :) ), then as some people found in my...

Finding square roots of complex numbers

It sounds as if you've never actually done basic equations via completing the square method before. Either that, or you're just applying it to the square root of complex numbers thing. If you never done completing the square before, maybe you should go back and do some basic ones to fully...

Threat of jihad becuase of icecream

Catholic's would've gone psycho. Just like any other religion would've feel vandalised. People are only picking on Muslims because, really, of this whole terrorism thing. Please note, I'm not actually saying that their reaction is justified, nor am I actually stereotyping Muslims as...

    Repeating HSC?

Why bother? Why not just put in the effort NOW, and then (like you said) you'll save a couple of years of your life... There's plenty of time to improve... it's only December!!! That would REALLY suck. Did they put in any extra effort?

    Repeating HSC?

Haha. Nice and inspirational. Thank you.
