    ORT's (Other Related Texts)

Mmm... love the song, heard of the other two but never actually seen/read them. I think Picnic at Hanging Rock is good, but perhaps that's just me as I enjoyed both the movie and book. I think it is very imaginative - the character's and responder's both go on an imaginative journey. Ah well...

Anyone got notes on Donnie Darko? Fight club?

Have you tried the English notes/resources page on this site? You can search the notes if you can't find anything in the titles...

    above 90 in subject

There's also the Premier's Award, which is given to people who have gotten a Band 6 in at least 10 units. This isn't listing by UAI, but obviously, all those Band 6's would've gotten you a preeeetty decent UAI. :D

    problem with topic tests..

    I'll do the first one for you... Jarrod has four pairs of sock => eight socks altogether. Thus, when he selects one sock, it's: 8S - 1S = 7S (if "S" = socks) P(NOT matching sock) = 1 - P(E) =1 - 1/7 = 6/7 etc.

Ok, so do you understand where you went wrong, or would you like solutions posted up?

How are the 06's finding yr 12 so far??

I love open-book tests. Better still, are the "open-book tests" where you get the information given to you on sheets about two weeks before the actual assessment. :D

    isp dates

Really? I would really hate to... at least now we get it all over and out of the way, and won't be panicking 'bout trials, etc. at the same time.

    Advanced Maths vs Standard Maths

It also depends on what you are considering as a future career. Obviously, you choose the subjects that pave the way to that career. Talk to your teachers, and review your performance over this year as a whole. And remember, it's the first HSC assessment task, and if it was worth, like, 15%...

What would you like to see on BOS 2006?

I have the same problem as you :( Also... competitions! With cars as prizes! Lol, just kidding. I'll just have to save up and buy my own car... :p

    Relgion Assignment

Talk to your teacher. Or, if you're uncomfortable talking to your teacher or whatever, talk to a different religion teacher. If this is your ISP, then you can always change the question. :)

Any Ideas For A Speech ????

4 to 6 minutes? That's a pretty lenient time-slot... we usually get a certain number of minutes (e.g. 3 minutes) and then get a 15-30 second lee-way, depending on the subject. I won't actually study Skrzynecki, so can't help you there, but there should be plenty of notes in the resources...

    A Myth

You could always ask your teacher... :) But yeah, I would doubt if they're accepted. I'd go with what Riviet said. A few others you can add to your list include poems and songs, but try not to analyse a poem if you're doing a poem from stimulus booklet, etc. :)

Drat, 1 doesn't equal 2??? There goes all my hard work...
  17. bananasmoothy

    what topic scares you?

Yup, and asymptotes always help... :) Apparently, some schools don't even learn asymptotes 'cause the teachers' don't know how to do them. That would suck. Majorly.

Writing Better Essays - A guide by l-Mercedes-l

Wow, that's really helpful, thanks! :):):) I like the pink, especially the table! :D And, only if you totally don't mind, modulus notes would be appreciated. :D But only if you're not too busy, or something. :)
  19. bananasmoothy

    what topic scares you?

Mmmm basically. Not that hard - but some people become dependant on calculus 'cause it's so easy, and so forget other methods...
  20. bananasmoothy

    what topic scares you?

I've seen a few, but can't remember exactly where... always useful. :D Anyway, it was like, "sketch ----- without using calculus" ... and it might've been a four-unit question, actually... EDIT: Just found some questions on this, actually... and it IS maths ext. 2 stuff... would you like me...
