    ANU Roll Call/About You Survey

    1. PhB(Science) 2. Double major in chemistry (organic/inorganic) 3. 4th year - honours in organic chemistry 4. Honours is pretty much a 9-5 gig, before this it was I think around 20+pw. 5. Do weekends count? Only in 2nd semester last year did I get a day off, and that was because I...

    ANU Fully Catered Accommodation Offers

1 - Scholarship payments normally go out in the first couple of weeks of uni, you will need to sign something and do the bank details form which I would guess might come in the mail. 3 - Uni fees aren't due til the census date (31 March) and can be paid after you enrol, then you'll know how...

    Tax File Number?

You need your tax file number to get your HECS, so you really need one if you're deferring your payments. I guess if you don't have one, sort out to get one ASAP and ask someone to do with enrolment what you should do...

    ANU Fully Catered Accommodation Offers

1st years who live outside ACT are given priority, all will get accommodation, it's a guarantee, it just may not be where you want... But 2nd and 3rd years who live there still need somewhere to live, you can't kick them all out, especially internationals.

    Rent Assistance

I don't actually know, but a year is a pretty long time to be away from home, it's not like you're just visiting there for a week. You're moving out of home, and while you're thinking of moving back after a year, there's gotta be some possibility that it doesn't happen and then you would have...

    ANU Scholarship Offers 2009

I didn't recieve my offer of a region scholarship until about week 3 in semester 1, but I think mine was strange...

    What to DO at ANU?

If you can't decide between these, why wouldn't you just do law? (I don't know anything about it, it just seems if you're so set on law but not on the others, why bother doing a degree in them, just do some electives)

    Screw ISIS

I think they opened around 11:40am, I managed to get my grades from enrolment around then, still very slowly, didn't get marks for a few more hours... Why couldn't they release them early like they normally do then everyone gets them more staggered...

Is it possible for Bachelor of Arts(IR) with Maths Major?

I think quite a lot of people do it though... As for overloading, I don't think you have to full-fee pay, at least a friend in engineering didn't have to for two extra courses last year, its just extra HECS...

Is it possible for Bachelor of Arts(IR) with Maths Major?

As long as you're doing ok, it should be possible to overload (do more than 4 subjects in a semester) so you can do some extra maths courses so you can complete the amount of courses required for a major (but it'll be a bit of work). I don't think there'll be any trouble with you doing the...

    Class sizes?

I think first year chem is about 300 students, so a bit less than that actually attending lectures, labs are maybe 40? But you each have a demonstrator in groups of ~10. I think most first year courses in science are similar, but by the time you get to third year its more like 30 students in...

    Bush Week?

I've found most-all science classes are canceled for the Friday, I think lecturers are asked to not schedule anything for that day, but it does depend on the individual courses...

    Scholarships !

It's really just the people with the top UAIs for the uni/faculty. They have a certain number to give out, so the top however many UAIs will get one, but specific faculties also have a certain amount, so they can't all go to people say doing law. I know of someone who got one with a UAI of...

    ANU course enquiries

Medical science is pretty much straight biology: genetics, molecular bio, cells, maybe some biochemistry, although you do have to do first year chem and have spare units for other subjects (if you wanted to do more chem for example). It seems like a pretty good degree... That being said a...

    Repeat year 12 again?.....

Also, if you repeat, you'll have already learned the stuff, so you'll probably get bored with it and not try as hard, and then realise how much you've forgotten when you go to study right before the exam...

Ok say i get a UAI of 100... PhB or Bsc ?

I'm not too sure on that part, it'll be great if you want to go on exchange to Singapore, although you can apply to go on exchange to other uni's normally if you don't do it. I guess it means you can do part of your degree at NUS, and it's more in conjunction with your PhB degree than an...

Ok say i get a UAI of 100... PhB or Bsc ?

Do a PhB... It can be essentially a BSc anyway, as you can choose the same courses as everyone else, but you can also accelerate courses, skip courses if you already know the material, and the Advanced Studies Courses are courses in the area you choose, done for your interest. The PhB is a BSc...
