    parra v. melbourne gf 2009

nothing cost parra the game except their own crappy play for the majority of the match. if you allow yourself to trail 22-6 in the middle of the second half then you have no one to blame for losing other than yourself.

    trustworthy? the "GOOD UNIVERSITIES GUIDE"

what methodology does GUG use to do its star ratings? i've never looked at a copy and i've never really seen it taken that seriously, but i'd be interested to know.

    Bachelor of Arts

because believe it or not, universities used to be places where you'd go to receive a well-rounded education, rather than just glorified vocational colleges, and some people believe that the old mode of tertiary education is worth preserving.

    them Sydney Trains moments

Re: them cityrail moments was on the train going down to bankstown one day last year, and some woman was sitting a few seats behind me and started coughing and hacking really loudly. it sounded like she was pretty sick and i was starting to wonder whether she was in serious trouble, but then...

worst air travel/ things you hate most about air travel

i hate the lack of legroom in economy. i usually ask for a seat on the aisle so i have a bit more space to expand my legs into, but it's still pretty uncomfortable. but last time i flew the check-in guy gave me an exit row without telling me, so that was an awesome surprise when i got on the...

    majors

do you mean two majors in addition to the media/communications major (so a total of 3 majors)? if so then you wouldn't be able to do them all if you transfer into law. the combined degree's structure means that your law units take the place of the units which could make up your third major - so...

    17 year olds?

unless you wear a badge saying 'Hi, I'm 17' then how will people know? they wouldn't care anyway. the only difference will be that you won't be able to go to the pub, unless fake ID etc etc etc, but you can probably live with that for a few months.

is USYD more conservative or liberal

how can you characterise an entire university of 40000+ people as 'conservative' or 'liberal'? are we talking about staff? student body? student media? the easy answer to give is 'far left', as the campus is constantly littered with DEATH TO THE ZIONIST CAPITALISTS posters from the socialist...

    Hecs

the education department makes the whole thing a lot more complicated than it needs to be. key points are: - unless you want to pay off your HECS debt early, then you don't need to pay anything up-front. just give your uni your TFN when you enrol and you're away, and then you don't need to...

    hecs help

'provider' is just bureaucrat-speak for your uni, yeah. and you apply for HECS-HELP when you enrol at university (probably in late january), you just fill out a form and give them your tax file number.

Honours in Ancient History - Latin?

if you're at usyd, then yes, an ancient language is required to do honours. the rule is that you need at least first-year latin or greek, or equivalent HSC or external study. if you need to know more, you should email alastair blanshard, who's responsible for coordinating honours admissions.

double major in Arts, both from part A?

yep that would be fine. the rule is just that you need to have at least one of your majors from Part A, there's no requirement to do your second one from Part B.

Liberal Studies v.s. Liberal Arts and Sciences

you're right, liberal studies (as well as the B. Arts and Sciences) is now being replaced with the BLAS. key difference is that it's a 3-year degree instead of the previous 4. a) impossible to say for sure, but: liberal studies (international) was only 99ish because you got $5000 to go towards...

    2009 SRC Elections

i don't see what that has to do with whether or not they'll be good editors. the honi tickets don't really care about the other (totally pointless) elections, so if they want to grab a few extra votes from the NLS hacks by telling people to vote for NLS in said pointless elections on a...
