*goes on to the search of the ultimate HSC calculator* but dang, i'm already too used to this one i have, plus you'll probably have to derive it without calculator anyways..

    4u maths VERSUS 3u maths

He uses one of those in-built ones special for human craniums, much like the T-100 and the T-X. Those probably allowed him to check the exam twice! :D by the way, I heard some high schools got an advantage because of using graphic capable calculators last year. It was an allowed calculator...

    Naturally smart

The underthesun formulae for calculating a person's potential: Potential = Work*sin(IQ*pi/300) Where work is in Homeworks.year^-1 See, if everyone works the same amount, anyone with IQ of 150 would reach the peak potential. However, anyone with higher IQ than that would be too arrogant...

    random tips/hints

When doing partial fractions, you can always compare powers. That sometimes makes things easy.. there goes my 2 cents. Didn't drbuchanan speculate about riemann hypothesis appearing in 2003 paper? :D

    Gar.. it's the MANSW's fault :)

    simple 3u..plz help

    See: let p = sin(x) dp/dx = cos(x) let y = pn = sinn(x) dy/dp = npn-1 Now how do we get dy/dx? We multiply dy/du with dp/dx, and you'll get dy/dx = npn-1cos(x) = nsinn-1(x)cos(x) That's differentiation by...

    Error in the HSC paper?

It's unlikely that they'd stuff up the real paper, imagine what happens to the education minister then.. Maybe it's the reprinting on textbooks and books that has something wrong. Geha's 50 tips has quite a bit of errors itself (looks like printing error), so its probably safe to assume that...

    Binomials

The second question misleads me.. it seems.. I'd have used the expansion of 1n = (x + (1-x))n which gives terms like Pr where Pr = nCrxr(1-x)n-r. But when when I want to find that identity, i'm lost..

    Binomials

For the first question, It's a GP. The sum of the GP is ((1+x)n+1 - 1)/x Now, you find the coefficients of xr in the long series, and you find the same for the sum. Note that you have to find the coefficient of (n+1)C(r+1), because the value will get divided by x. So...

Yeah, so I guess we were those bludgers who bludged in the beginning and got shit rank, until the end where you realise that the HSC is important and got great results.. only in the HSC exam. Oh well.. an extra year of maths periods to socialise? :D

    Most difficult 4u q?

Final fantasy of course! Well, one of the 4unit papers was once 60% harder 3unit.. Learning new methods are good, because you learn something new. In other words you open the door. Even if there'a fog, it will clear. Even if there's nothing, at least, there'll be a draught. Oh no...
