In one of the HSC questions, it was given that: a^3 + b^3 + c^3 - 3abc = (a+b+c)(a^2 + b^2 + c^3 - ab - bc - ca) That probably came from the expansion, so work it out from there :D

I *think* 83% or around gives 96 exam mark (aligned), because that's probably what I got last year. 83% is probably a fair guess, but I could have scored something like 87% or 90%, so you never know... I actually wonder how much you need to get 99 in 4u too... I'm thinking 80%?

You can calculate by using a ruler and a calculator to see the percentile. However at the top (which what you'll probably get anyways) the bar graph is that tiny, it is hard to count..

Some people just do it for the purpose of scaling, or were overconfident that they only have 10 units. I mean, my maths teacher (who is strictly chinese), has been trying to force this guy to drop, but can't because he only has 10 units. So there he is, becoming someone you can rely on to...

But sometimes some wildcard teacher just turned up to a public school to raise a group of lvl 99 4unit students out of ordinary kids.. for fun :)

Sure, you can gamble for marks in question 8s by spending learning different proofs, just for an extra 0.1 scaled mark for your UAI calculation :D
