what TYPE of school do u go to?

Re: Public School vs. Private I agreee private schools have better facilities but I don't agree that the teachers in public schools are more "lazy" than those in private schools. At least they havent been in my case. I went to a public school - every single one of my teachers wished the...

    projectile motion - interesting question

[I'm guessing here] Sub the point (22.5, 11.25) into the cartesian equation and then sub the point (45, 0) into the same cartesian equation, and simultaneously solve. Oh and you might need the identity sec2@ = 1 + tan2@

Yeah your one is correct. My original is incorrect.

Elastic and Inelastic collisions - Question.

Oh oops yeah you are right. kinetic energy is not conserved but momentum is. Oh and I think momentum is ONLY conserved when the external forces on a system are negligeable, right?

    A little question~

between T and U the gradient is steepest. But that does not mean that force is maximum - force is maximum when the graph is at a maximum, and thats from the period U-V. Oh also, there is a common misconception that a force acts upon a body when it is moving at a constant velocity. THis is not...

    A little question~

Force is maximum between times U and V and since m is constant, then by F=ma, a is also maximum

    Ethanol Content in wine

You can heat the same amount of water and measure the weight difference due to evaporation. Then the total mass of ethanol is equivalent to the mass loss in wine - mass loss in control (i..e the water). This is probably more accurate.

Current and potential difference: changes in relation to a resistor

Electrons are trasnferring their energy to the metal atoms in the resistor which therefore experience an increase in kinteic energy, which we measure as heat.

Elastic and Inelastic collisions - Question.

In completely inelastic collisions, the masses stick together. So the equation for momentum becomes m1u1+ m2u2= (m1+m2)v This page is useful http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/inecol.html#c1 EDIT: equation changed. thanks zeropoint (read below)

    Trig Help!!

    a2sec2@ /sqrt(a2sec2 - a2) = a2sec2@ /sqrt(a2(sec2@-1)) = a2sec2@ /a*sqrt(tan2@) = a*sec2@/tan@ = a * 1/cos2@ * cos@/sin@ = a*sec@*cosec@ as required

    algebra..

Perhaps you could post up some of your problems, so we can see/explain what you are not understanding. The way to learn algebra, like anything else in maths, is by doing as many problems as possible. Unfortunately there's no 'easy' way to learn maths. To be good at maths, you have to practise...

Will dropping to general maths make a big dif to my uai

You can, certainly - but it will be mroe difficult trying to learn 2 years of maths in a month or so than putting the effort in and understandind the concepts now. But thats my opinion of course.

Will dropping to general maths make a big dif to my uai

If you will be doing any maths at uni then put your head down and study hard in 2 unit. Otherwise, you can drop if you only need general maths :)

    why?

log (2x) = log 2 + log x log 2 is just a number so its derivative is zero. The rest follows quickly.
