I just had a really awkward day.
After the welcome speeches they left us at the McMullin courtyard to mingle for two hours. I'm bad with small talk at the best of times but today was shocking. This conversation went down at least 5 times:
Me: 'What do you like to do?'
Other student: 'Well...
For any 2nd year + members,
Can you give us any tips for law academically? (in terms of structuring summaries, approaching readings etc etc).
Feel free to go into detail as what might seem like jargon now may be useful at a later date, and thank you.

I understand you're trying to drum it into our heads not to go into law for the money, but the pay really isnt that bad. For major firms its basically on par with accounting and just lower than I banking, and even in the suburbs lawyers generally make more than my parents do...
The importance of incorperating the PLT as compared to other law student forums (such as those on vogue) is greatly understated on BoS.
It's an extra 7 months and $7K to your degree, not to mention you're paying extra to complete extra law units which would usually be taken up by the PLT...
Sorry if I seem ignorant but I've really had an arse of a time keeping up with enrolment/registration for courses.
On the 10th when we register for our lectures/tutes do we also have to register for the lectures/tutes in semester 2?
I doubt that man. America's decline will be a very slow one considering its heavy investment in higher education and complete dominance in emerging fields such as nano and biotech.
More than likely as international law cements so will Israel's place as a legitimate state.
My 20c is as...
- Driving past the police and giving them the finger under the car door.
- Pulling up next to a 4 year old with her dad and screaming 'show us your tits'
- Finding out about a girl who fucked some huge black guy at schoolies and using the phrase 'lets make like Amy B and split'
- Refering to...
Hello Ellise, its Oliver. You looked gorgeous at the formal.
You will recieve your UAI from the UAC site, the same place you went to pick your uni courses.
Curious, what is your dream job?
It's fair enough that you've gone back to school to do your hsc, but it seems a little wasteful if you are doing subjects like food tech.
Are you slow? your point is completely irrelevant. I am argueing that the church, to a great extent, has influenced the development of Western law systems.
No, you're fucking wrong, because for centuries common and civil legal systems have been dictated by canon law. To deny the role of religion in the development of society is ludicrous.
'Human rights' comes from the concept of natural law - that there is a divine law above the powers of the state to remove. So you can thank the Catholic church that you in fact have any rights.
