To give my opinon to the original post:
I am in my early 20's and have been working full time for the last 3 years. I am well respected within my company of over 120 staff, I have had several pay rises and am paid the same or slightly more than those in the same position as me who are all older...
Hey! Yeh enrolment was tiring! On the day got all my first choice classes except from one but when I went on that night someone had pulled out the tutorial time slot I wanted so i quickly swapped! Yey! How did you go?
As for books, I found a cheat on another post but I don't know how to check...
So I am starting this year - should I just buy the books for my units now or wait till classes start and we are told to?
Also is it necessary to buy the books it lists?
and am I likely to miss out buying older editions?
I'll be purchasing $471 worth of books, but have saved for it and will...
MQ supplied us with one this year but before I got it I was just going to buy a cheaper one - by semester two it will just be all scribbled on and pages torn and stuff anyway. You can always buy a cheap one this year and then buy a better one next year when you are certain you will get the use...
Not necessarily. It just stipulated one must be outside your faculty and one must be outside your department. It doesn't which is which. I am doing a people unit in Sem2 which is outside my department.
Yes but first in gets best selection of classes because once you are enrolled you can select...
So I am trying to work out suitable times for doing STAT 170 in Sem 2 but I can't work out whether it has 1 Lecture, 1 Tutorial and 1 Practical or if it has 2 Lectures, 2 Tutorials and 1 Practical.
Here it looks like 1 of each: http://www.timetables.mq.edu.au/clas...AT&UnitNum=170
But when I...
When I go to timetable and Search STAT 170 - second half and Day It comes up like that but has Lecture_2 and Tutorial_2 - I'm really confused!
EDIT - I will start a thread for this.
Yey! I'm glad you got there! Don't worry about it, I struggled at first too but then it just clicks. Hopefully I will see you there, I am thinking of doing my second major in economics too and I am doing some of the same units as you this year so I might see you around =)
Academic advising on...
Unfortunately at MQ it would be difficult not to choose a major until 2nd year.
Best thing to do it just do all the 100 level units 'Required' units for the majors you might want to do and then only continue in 2nd year with the units of the major you decide to do.
Haha yeh missed that - but on the same point I find it completely unfair that my academic advising is 1:30 so I called up today and I am not allowed to go in any early yet those before me can book out the good tutorial times before I even get a chance!
Does that mean you have already enrolled in your commerce subjects i.e enrolled in specific classes. At this rate all the good classes will be gone before its my day!! Seems a little unfair!
OK, this is how I did it:
1. write down all the units that a 'Required' for Commerce - making sure you note the ones where you have a choice of 2 or 3 and only need to do one, like this:
ACST101
BBA102
ECON111
MKTG101
ACCG100 OR ACCG106
2. write down all the 'Required'...
