Just me or does anyone else hear pigeons.... -_- But in all fairness, that would be pretty meta from NESA if they were to put in a question like that. Id be welcoming of such a thing if it were the case. Just dont gimme a repeat 2020 🥴

    1. Get 99.95 (or if youre E12, that cut off is lowered to 99.5, but youll still need 99.8+ to be competitive) for USyd. 2. Interview prep, so you can nail USyd. As mentioned above, usyd doesnt need ucat. 3. Med Students Online is your best bet with these sorts of questions. Its pretty much BOS...

How'd you go in the 2020 HSC x1 paper?

Just wanting to gauge how hard the paper was for most (just in anticipation for tomorrow lol) Q14 was so hard :\. I managed a 61/70.

Ocean Vuong on English Paper 1

Appreciating it is a stretch sure, especially in a high intensity timed exam. But, just because idiots who haven't practised, or learnt how to interpret sentences that are longer than 5 words and made up of 4 characters each, doesn't warrant them the right to swarm up on the author. They can...

Cutoffs and how the cohort goes

Ive got buddies in a couple places, (mainly because ive hopped around a lot), and they all seem to have kept on top of things. Who knows really, a sample size of 10, or even 100, cant really be extrapolated over to the 60,000 other students lol

Cutoffs and how the cohort goes

This would only be true if the assumption that "no one studied and everyone was super unprepared/unmotivated" was to be a reality. I really dont think it is, as much as the hsc discussion group leads people to believe lol

Cutoffs and how the cohort goes

If youre relatively better than everyone then you will get the appropriate atar yes. if everyone was to, as you say, become catastrophisingly poopy, then the net difference on atar becomes 0. But i dont think its going to be linear. There will be people whove taken this opportunity to...

Cutoffs and how the cohort goes

the average atar dropping...? The marks can drop sure, because they are a measure of our outcomes not only relative to one another, but relative to past year groups. Eddie woo has made a video on this btw, have a watch of it. A 94 in x1 this year, is objectively better than a 93 in x1 the year...

Here it is btw. Some saint chucked it up on the x2 thread.

Ahaha idk, all jokes aside, i personally dont think that x2 was that much worse than last years. Someone on here already said that there were plenty of easy marks to be gained. Either way though, if ext 1 was as hard as last years then its still looking alright

    Maths Ext 2 Predictions/Thoughts

Different sure, idk about harder, as a couple people have said, there were a lot more 'easy' marks out to get, really dont think that was so much the case for the NSB 2021 paper, might just be personal strengths thing

    Math Ext 1 Predictions/Thoughts

Hmmm, i feel after this years x2 paper, its gonna be something pretty similar to what happened in 2020. As in like, x1 arguably 'harder' than x2 and there being an almost exponential increase in difficulty from the 'easy' marks to question 13 and 14.

Same, except not a fan of slope fields lol even though they are ez marks, they still just hurt my eyes.
