What I said before should (if it's the same virus as in the OP). A repair could fix up whatever has screwed his internet connection. I agree it's a band-aid solution though :)

Formatting isn't that hard. That said, as long as you remember to back up all your important stuff there's no downside to it. Also try doing a repair. Using the OS install Disc, the OS installation menu should have an option.

My advice is to learn as much from this experience as you can. Never get in the friend zone in the first place. If you meet a girl and like her, make your intentions clear from the start. Be more impulsive and enjoy life; don't sit back.
