Does Usyd have computer science electives?

I've heard Informatics (Adv) is the course to take if you're only taking one or two CS electives. Apparently covers Python well and there's a semester long project as part of the course.

B psychology at USYD -> clinical psych?

I haven't done psychology but I know people that do and it's not considered as difficult as the medical and pure sciences. As for being wishy washy, it is if you don't continue on to Masters but not because the program is bad but rather because you really do need a masters degree to practice...

    "Best" Computer Science electives?

btw Does anyone know if the free electives in CS single degree can be taken form the CS elective list or do they have to be from a different discipline?

hey, have you received my message? I inboxed you back twice but not sure if it went through because my page isn't displaying any sent messages..

    "Best" Computer Science electives?

I've heard that too. It is a bit odd especially since Operating Systems is a core in Computer Engineering. The CSE website also says every CSE student should take Discrete Maths yet Computer Engineering doesn't allow for it. I've heard Software Construction (COMP2041) and Programming...

    "Best" Computer Science electives?

A question for all CSE students What were the most worthwhile CS electives you've taken or would recommend others take?

    Psychology or Speech Pathology

I have a friend who did Speech Pathology. She graduated last year and is working full time. I would say Speech Pathology and OT would be easier to get a job in straight from uni as opposed to Psychology where you need a masters degree for clinical. Psychology would be more useful if you wanted...

New Computer Science course at UTS (2016)

It looks like they merged the IT and ICT Engineering cores and added a few submajors outside of what the IT degree already offers. Overall, much better than whatever the Science in IT degree is meant to be. Mathematical Analysis submajor looks like it was taken directly from the maths major...

Finance/commerce (accounting) or Law/commerce (accounting), which has more 'scope'?

Re: Finance/commerce (accounting) or Law/commerce (accounting), which has more 'scope just wanted to add you can't double major in commerce at USYD when it's combined with Law..

Are there no jobs for lawyers

There are a range of sub fields within international law. There's Public and Private but there's also International Commercial etc. If you're referring to public international law (which is what most people mean when they say international law), you should try and get positions in government...

Are there no jobs for lawyers

I can confirm this for Europe because I spent some time there and the opportunities are endless (in case you're interested in going abroad).

Are there no jobs for lawyers

Not exactly sure what no 2 has to do with what you quoted me saying..? You quoted the following statement: "This seems to be an reoccurring pattern but it's not because law is a miserable field.... you need a law degree strictly to practice as a lawyer. This means applying specific sets of laws...

B.Economics vs Economics majors in B.Commerce

But they're related areas so that should help. imo it only shows you're indecisive if you have no good reason to offer up as to why you made the choice to triple major. I'll be studying three different fields most likely and I have friends that study 3 fields - it's not uncommon.

B.Economics vs Economics majors in B.Commerce

Not sure specifically what role if that's what you're asking, just find Economics interesting and FInance useful. I'm considering combining it with Engineering because I don't want a straight engo degree. I'll think about what exactly I want to do when I actually get to uni and start doing the...

Are there no jobs for lawyers

No,, this is Commerce/Arts because you mentioned you can't study International Law while doing commerce. The link you posted was Arts/Law. If you specifically want Arts/Law then you can only do it at USYD/UNSW (and MQ) if you want the IR majors. There's also a third option. You could study...

Are there no jobs for lawyers

    yes you can :) http://courses.mq.edu.au/undergraduate/doubledegree/bachelor-of-arts-with-the-degree-of-bachelor-of-commerce/major-in-international-law-and-global-governance

Are there no jobs for lawyers

This refers to the major within the Arts degree and looks like a government/IR major with two international law electives which aren't crucial as you'll have international law within the law degree. You can do the politics/IR major at USYD/UNSW (probably UWS but you'd have to check) while UTS...

B.Economics vs Economics majors in B.Commerce

I sent a message to UNSW yesterday to check and they told me it is possible to double major in commerce dual mode regardless of what it's combined with. It just takes a bit longer. I'm not really sure which field I'm interested more, perhaps management consulting or project management in...

Are there no jobs for lawyers

lol you can always drop degrees and transfer if you're not satisfied with your initial choice :) Commerce and Arts are popular choices for combined law.. commerce might be better if you want a fallback option. edit: major in international law? I don't think you can major in any law degree...
