Yeah, you answer ONE and only one question from each section. So if you decided to answer the section 4 question instead of the section 3 question, you would have to do another essay from section three (on a different period), thus you'd be screwed

You can't use a topic from the 2U course, but you can extend upon a topic from the 2U course. Topic wise I don't know how you'd relate the first topic to the ext. history course, second seems a bit broad, third might be too close to the ancient course, and fourth is crap, or at least the person...

They want you to pick one and evaluate it, although you would refer to the other type of source to compare the accuracy or whatever you are evaluating

That's hardly cramming though, as to do it properly takes a while. I consider cramming as frantic study the day before the exam, and unless you already have solid knowledge, its impossible for ancient. Just pick a few pieces of information and pray the you get lucky

There is a lot of crap, too much to make it feasible to type out, but your textbook should have everything you need

They could never hit us with a question with that in the HSC, too vague.

Thanks, and thats about all I could find as well. The problem is there could be say a 6 mark question on art, and I don't have the knowledge to answer it
