    Teachers crossing the line

If you ask me, you should drop the units if you do not intend on studying for them as your marks could affect the rest of your cohorts marks. I do not see any possible reason for you keeping the subject if you know you are not going to need it. The fact the your teacher disclosed your mark is...

I am a teacher, this is the trial I gave my classes :)

My trial -- download.. have a go :)

My trial -- download.. have a go :) (marking scheme attached now) I made my trial a little different to a conventional test. A great deal of the questions are harder questions aimed at higher achieving students. I got some questions from past trials/HSC and some I just made up :) Not one...

    Magnetic Flux vs. Time

It is all to do with the wording of the question. It is a graph of mag flux vs time in a solenoid. It wants the graph of EMF vs time in the SAME solenoid, (i.e., a graph of EMF vs time which would cause that flux vs time graph), not the graph of induced EMF in a different solenoid.

    Magnetic Flux Density

Using RHPR, force is back up the ramp (to oppose the falling down the ramp) which means induced current from b --> a Flux would decrease with area, but flux density would increase (due to induced current)

Need clarification on any questions before your trial HSC? ASK ME!!

Bohrs Third Postulate states that the electrons angular momentum is quantised, such that mvr=\tfrac{nh}{2\pi }, where n is the principal energy shell number. Bohr himself could not explain why the electrons angular momentum was quantised, it was merely a condition for his model of the atom to...

LoL, serious? When I asked him about the ranking, he said he was unsure, but he thought top 10.

    Centripetal force (help....)

    1. The frictional force must be high enough to provide the needed centripetal force for the car to round the curve. I.e. Frictional force must be greater than or equal to centripetal force. 2. The same forces as on a regular curve, its just that the frictional force would be much smaller, thus...

    Magnetic Flux Density

I'm spewing I have already written my trial paper... I would have liked to put this question in there =)

Physics tutoring -- Need students aiming for band 6!!

I have 6 students for my weekday 85+ class now, so I am considering that class full! I will probably be opening a Saturday 12:30-3:00 class. Please PM if interested :)

Do you think going TUTORING is necessary? Does it REALLY improve ur marks at school?

Re: Do you think going TUTORING is necessary? Does it REALLY improve ur marks at scho lmfao. Not all teachers will give up their own time outside of class. Most will, some wont. I know some teachers who stay back until 5pm or get to school at 7am to help their students. But, then again, I...

    Magnetic Flux Density

heh, misread the q, thought it was asking about the rod itself. The rod is moving in a magnetic field, hence current will be induced. Using RHP rule, current will be induced in conductor from b --> a. Using RHG rule, the mag field associated with this current foes into the page above conductor...

Do you think going TUTORING is necessary? Does it REALLY improve ur marks at school?

Re: Do you think going TUTORING is necessary? Does it REALLY improve ur marks at scho It depends on your teacher and your tutor. I know that there are teachers in the system who couldn't care less about their students and about how they teach. There are teachers at my school who teach just to...

    Magnetic Flux Density

Magnetic flux density would remain constant. Magnetic flux density is just another term used for magnetic field strength and this remains unchanged when the rod changes position.

    Multiple Choice Help

To clarify question 2, precision is to do with the certainty of the measurements, or, the number of 'decimal places' in the measurement. Think of measuring an A4 sheet of paper, measuring it with a ruler that has mm intervals will be more precise than measuring with a metre ruler, which only...

    I&I Question

The stopping voltage would increase, but not necessarily double. In the example in the question. Seeing as the Work function is 6x1014Hz, then the KEmax is 3x1014Hz and the stopping voltage occurs when qVstop = KEmax i.e., Vstop = KEmax / q If the frequency is doubled, to 1.8x1015Hz, then the...

Do Standard and Advanced English scale the same?

If you can change, please do change. It's only ever the top 1% that get a band 6 in Std. English, but around top 10-12% for Advanced. I wish my teachers told me that :\
