thanks mitochondria for that... but i still think standard english is still being disadvantaged considering that only a tiny proportion of candidates achieved band 5 or 6

Does anyone know someone who achieved above 90 UAI and did standard english?

i'm doing 10. I think it's safer than doing 12 because i would then have time to study on my weaker subject/s.

I agree with Lexicographer, our future depends on how well we perform in the HSC. I would depress to death if i dont get a good HSC mark....

I've been told that it is more difficult to reach a top band in standard english because the questions asked in advanced are more complex compared to the questions asked in standard. However, i think it is really stupid to see how 0% of students achieved band 6 and only about 2% achieved band 5...

Yes i agree. This is why i choose to do 10 units so i can concentrate on my weaker subject/s. I found doin 12 units would be riskier since that would mean 20% more work.

I dont go to chemistry tuition. I used to go to TCN for chemistry but i quited because i couldnt understand his notes. He kept on picking on me asking questions i dont even know what he's talking about... so eventually i got frustrated and jst stopped going there for chem.

i got 78% and came 10th

yea i've done mine, wasnt terribly hard compared to the bio prac exam i did. i jst revised everything we've done so far, and i went fine in the test. Of course, i was prepared about 1 or 2 weeks before the exam.

So the preliminary was just as pointless as the school certificate ?

yea my finger is a lot better now, i guess i was so nervous in the prac room that i couldnt hold the knife firmly enough to cut the onion peice.

yea my prelims finished todai ~ i accidently cut myself in bio prac exam today, luckily i had band aid in my bag.

the english Excel books are outdated ~ they still have the area of study: "change" which should now be "journey"
