Are you guys buying a yearly ticket ???

^ That's what I do. It's also great because once my friends and I decided to go the beach and I just used my MyMulti ticket to go on the bus. If I wanted to go to Bondi, I'd just use my MyMulti ticket to catch a train or bus there. It's... really really good value.

    discrete maths math1081 worth doing

Well, you should do it anyway because it's a different portion of mathematics than what you get in high school. You might end up liking it, I certainly did. You say you're doing Applied Maths and Stats - you might do Discrete and go "omg graph theory is the best thing ever" and do a Graph...

What clubs and societies are you joining?

$29 if you want extra services. For example, I'll be paying $29 so I can use the Arc Music Room. The full extra services you get for $29 are on their website, like stuff like legal representation and other things like that.

What clubs and societies are you joining?

You usually pay at their stall. Joining clubs is cheap though, perhaps no more than $10 per club at the very very very most.

    Whats NCARS? ( Non-Course Academic Requirements )

ELISE is like "BoS All My Own Work", to make sure you don't plagiarise and do stupid things like that. Not sure what that other one is.

    Sketching graphs for volume integration

The sketches will help you figure out what you're doing. It's like doing those "Person moves this much north, that much east, this other quantity south" without a diagram.

    Sketching graphs for volume integration

So you draw y = x^2. Now think of an axis coming out of the page and you're rotating the curve around that axis. So you get sort of a funnel thing... It's hard to explain in words, maybe someone else will come along with pretty pictures.

    Problems on Maxima and Minima

    These questions are usually hard. Be patient. For 4b, I got 48. (bah i dont know if i'm doing it wrong) "A (area of sheet metal) = x^2 + 4hx But h = 32/(x^2) Sub in to get: A = 128/(x^2) + x^2" If you sub in, shouldn't you get: A = x^2 + 4(32/x^2)x = x^2 + 128/x ?

Do you bring your textbooks to Tutes?

I know for my maths tutes, I'd just bring a paper and pen and copy the solutions on the board. For Commerce tutes, I'd either sit and listen to the mini-lecture or jot something down when written on the board. So in my experience, just a paper and pen. Write anything new or something.
