I put in a bunch of resumes and got 2 calls for a "meet and greet" interview. went to btoh today, now i'm hoping for call backs for a full proper interview. yay!

my friend just finished first year med at newcastle, and over half of the year failed. about 80% were offerred re-sits, but the rest failed, and now have to repeat. So even if u blitz the interview and get in, the "testing" continues all through the course to cut out the bottom few.

in my course, you get 12 credit points worth of conceded passes, so u can get between 45-49 in any 2 6 credit point subjects, or 3 4 credit point subjects etc. Considering you do 48 credit points a year, you cant rely on conceded passed to get through.

yeah, but u have to remember that u are competing against the cream of the crop, everybody in there has already reached a certain level, and to get D's u have to go above and beyond that level, which is just impossible.

i agree! i almost cried when i got my first assignment back and i got like 14/20 (which is a credit by the way) it hard to be happy with a 16/20 (distinction) when u are used to 18's and 19's

Excuse me? i really think that depends on the single degree. i'm doing a single degree (agriculture) and last semester we had 28 hour weeks. if u r stupid enough to go into credit overload, especilly in first year, then u would be doing like 40 hours a week. i know that doesnt sound like much...

nah, they were nice about it, it was for a $600 scholarship, and i was ineligible coz i already had a $3000 scholarship, so it wasnt all bad.

So i got my results, here they are Verbal stat score = 186, percentile rank = 99.9 Quantitative stat score = 178, percentile rank = 97.1 overall stat score = 181, percentile rank 99.8 i'm assuming thats pretty good yes? i'm told the average is around 153 or something like that. well...

i cannot imagine a fate worse than having to repeat some of the subjedts i have done this year, thats whats keeping me going. my last exam is on the 17th, after which i will be job hunting...hmmm, maybe i should have done that earlier....

u can wait till ur r 21 and apply as mature age ( i think its 21, not sure). i'm trying for vet, and they want a distinction average in my current course, good STAT test results, and loads of work experience. work experience is always a good thing, do as much as u can, it always loooks good on...

i think they do, my friends all got "thanks but no thanks" letters. i went for one scholarship that u had to go for an interview for, and they told me right there and then (but that was coz it turned out i was ineligible)

yeah I didnt get that either, but I have been repeatedly told that all questions are worth equal marks. I guess its just like UAI's, more a rank thing than a score thing.
