    Commerce Dilemma

Ring them up/email them to see what they can do now. If you go the internal transfer route, I think the WAM (your university mark) is required to be 75. https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/academiclife/program_transfer/InternalProgramTransfer.html

    Commerce Dilemma

During the online enrolment process, I remember being asked which degree am I enroling (combined degrees included). Pick Comm/Arts then. If not, you can do an internal transfer after first year.

    Commerce Dilemma

I always thought Accounting is UNSW business's best department. My main round offer was to USyd Comm and 2nd round to UNSW. I took the UNSW offer without a second thought because I realised I shouldn't have applied to USyd in the first place. Look at good universities guide on graduate...

Overseas/local degrees and the job prospects?

If your job is in the realm of maths, then yes I would say you have a very good chance if you do all those things you said.

Extra studying apart from Uni commitments

+1 You can wait for 1 sem and see how you are coping with uni. Not too late to start more activities then.

Is it easier to get a high GPA at UWS than other unis such as UNSW and USYD?

No company is going to admit they discrimate people based on universities they attend. Basic political correctness.

Why is going to top-tiered universities like Harvard or MIT etc so difficult?

True. I said Nanyang is a good choice, one doesn't have to be in Oxbridge to do quality MBAs :skip:.

Why is going to top-tiered universities like Harvard or MIT etc so difficult?

    1) You don't learn the same 'shit'. The professors and resources are on a different level. Networking too. Take a UWS degree and try to convince the employer that it's actually the same 'shit' as Harvard. 2) MBA from Judge/Said are not 1st tier, maybe not even 2nd. Good chance a b-school in...

    commerce international enrolment

You can. It may tie things up a bit but it's no big deal to study that 1 sem later.

Why is going to top-tiered universities like Harvard or MIT etc so difficult?

What makes them so difficult? Simply put, it's competition. ie Harvard will be damn easy if only 100 people in the world applied for it, but it's not.

hello there. Wharton is probably the hardest one to get into. Try to keep your WAM when applying to be at least 85 (that is high distinction at uni) to be competitive. The other things to be handed in are the same for applying to any exchange partners: resume, statement of purpose, letter of...

economics student wanting a guide on international exchange

Yeah that's why I didn't put UC at all on my preferences. I applied last sem to go Sem 2 this year and got into my first preference for Wharton. My preferences were pretty much in order of the ones I listed in my earlier post.

economics student wanting a guide on international exchange

UCB is a very good choice but the process of applying to any UC is unreliable at best. You apply to the UC system and submit your preference of UC campus and be distributed at their discretion.

economics student wanting a guide on international exchange

From my post on a similar thread, OP was asking for Finance. The case still stands IMO. One thing to note is that Economics is an ARTS course, not business in the states with exception of NYU's Stern. UPenn's eco course is also good, Ivy League and all. Most competitive one (and highest ranked...

Is WAM kept if degree is changed?

By completely different degree, you do mean you have your old courses' credit points transferred right? Then of course your marks are kept.

Is WAM kept if degree is changed?

Not sure about transferring unis but if it's within the same university, the courses you successfully applied for transfer of credit will definitely count towards your new WAM.

B comm at unsw, usyd or melbourne university? HELP

I picked UNSW Comm over USyd's. I won't bother moving to Melbourne even if it may be slightly better than UNSW, which is debatable.

    Comm/Law - Quant Methods

ECON 1202 and 1203 were renamed for 2010. The old names QMA/QMB don't officially exist anymore.

Best courses in b Eco if planning to transfer to b Comm?

As a first year, you can only enrol in courses starting with number 1 (Level 1 courses). You should do core courses for your DEGREE, which also coincides with Commerce, eg Microeconomics.
