Thanks for the advice :) I'm thinking of saying something to her, though I don't really know how to approach it. Maybe if she does something like this again, I'll be a bit more firm and try and stop the attitude with the way I talk, but apart from that I don't really know how to approach it. I...

Question to other supervisors: I'm 17, and if you havent gathered I do one supervision shift of a week night (4:30 to 9:30). The day-time operators, who are usually the grownups usually finish around 5:30-6:30. There is a lady who is in her 60s doing fulltime checkouts, and I can tell she hates...

I might give it a try tonight and get back to yous. See what happens. How long do you reckon it'll take before this fancy new thing is in place across all stores? I was gunna have a look on storenet later, but I figure someone may know something. :) We got a new cordless phone for the service...

Question: as a service supervisor, is it necessary for me to have a Citrix login, and an "Office" login? How long does it take them to make an account for this, because I still do not have a login for these things. I've had to put mobile phone sales through the POS screens, and it takes ages...

Currently, Queensland law allows us to have 1 square metre of cigarettes on display, as well as all the prices of cigarettes. We are also allowed a 1 square metre (I think) board for prices of cigarette cartons. Apparently though they're changing this mid-next year, so that no smokes are...

Yes, iMathew but I would say the cupboards are there because the insurance companies require them to be there as a way of at least protecting the store from the most dumbest of people. No doubt the insurance company would use the smokes being stored in an unsecure cupboard as an excuse to weasel...

But I think the principle of the thing is, if someone breaks into the store and pinches those smokes, that $1000+ of smokes that would probably not be recovered (even though they'd be insured, or whatever, but still). And I think its probably the best thing to do to keep them in the office.

Who would have thoughts this would happen... so at work all day, fine and dandy and then comes supervision. I was tough but fair with the operators tonight (for a change), and decided to make sure that everything got done good and early tonight... a change from the way i usually end up, which...

These new health and beauty ones are great! They are half-done in our store at the moment though - the refit team came in last night and started on them, and they're working on them again tonight. They're also upgrading the natural foods aisle too i think? But so far it looks amazing. So...

If, for whatever reason, they don't/can't give you a locker on your first day, or if you ever forget your key (and they cant give you your spare), I'm pretty sure you can just have the supervisor lock your shit in the drawer at the service desk. I've had to do it before. Our store is very...

Hi, From memory, I think it is only if you have a management position at either one of these companies that it is known as a "Conflict of Interest". In my store, there is a poster on the notice board about declaring any position you may hold with a competing company to Woolworths. If you are...

Hi, cool!! So is it always the Customer Service Manager's photo that is meant to be there, or the supervisor in charge if the CSM or 2ic isn't around? Many thanks :)

What's everyone store's busy-ness levels? Ours usually picks up in the afternoon (of a weekday to about 4 people on registers with only one or two people waiting behind in line. Then during the night, it goes really quiet- only two people need to be on registers after about 6pm, with one...

Wow, 8? We've had four in all the years we've been open... ha. We're pretty awesome atm :) First supervision shift by myself soon. Any pointers to help manage time properly? What's your usual routine as a supervisor? Its a close shift just so you know. The other day I did one with another...

Yes iMathew, but the customer can easily just login to everydayrewards.com.au at home, click "Replace Card" then they can say they lost it or it was stolen or something, and a new one will be sent out to their mailing address. A lot easier than registering a brand new card and transferring QFF...

What happened, all? Blackout for a few days? :) Anyway, I'm just wondering with the everyday rewards card, if a customer comes and tells you that they lost theirs, do we actually have the ability to go in and replace their card, or do we have to tell them that they have to login themselves? I...
