    main round/late round offers

Clarifications: You can receive at most one HECS offer and one FEE offer per round. You are automatically considered for each of your preferences in every round, irrespective of whether you have already received an offer or changed your preferences since the last round. Once you have...

Does Eng Adv have to count to UAI.

If your scaled marks in Extension 1 and Extension 2 are higher than your scaled mark in Advanced, they will be counted instead. Your best two units of English are the compulsory units - not necessarily your Advanced units.

    "www"

It's a fairly redundant prefix... doesn't appear to do anything except lengthen the URL.

when can we check the cut-offs?

I did point out that the links would only work "when the cut-offs have been made available". Thanks for posting the QTAC cut-offs, magician. :)

Board of Studies reveals 2004 raw marks

You gave me a scan of the letter you received which shows it as being reported out of 100... ? I suppose that makes sense - simply adding the results from both papers to produce a mark out of 105 ignores the appropriate weightings. My mark might be wrong.

when can we check the cut-offs?

When the cut-offs have been made available, these links should work: 2005 UAI cut-offs for HECS courses (Main Round) 2005 UAI cut-offs for local Australian fee-based courses (Main Round)

Board of Studies reveals 2004 raw marks

I'm afraid I don't know. I am the only student who has had their 2U English mark reported out of 105 - even Ragerunner, who was the next student to apply for marks after I did, had his English mark reported out of 100. Just phone them up and have it clarified.

Board of Studies reveals 2004 raw marks

I use a spreadsheet at the moment, but it's very fiddly. The general process is relatively straightforward - we can't calculate exact cut-offs due to the Board's rounding, so instead we determine the 'error margin' for each band. First, pick a set of marks within a single band to work with...

Board of Studies reveals 2004 raw marks

From those sets of marks, the cut-offs for English (Advanced) in 2004 appear to be in the following ranges: Band 5/6: 80.8 - 81.4 Band 4/5: 67.1 - 67.4 I'll work out the others later... or I'll write a program to do it. Thanks for posting them guys. :)

    Distinction Courses

If you ask your lecturer really nicely, they'll tell you the mark they sent to the Board. In most cases this is similar to your final HSC mark. Otherwise, ask for your rank and estimate a mark using the published percentiles.

    SAM 2005 - when?

We already know that a raw mark of 100% aligns to 100. :) That's the other point of reference.

    SAM 2005 - when?

That's right. ;) But due to problems with the Board rounding off marks, it's better to have more than one point of reference.

Calculation of Scaling Using A3 data

You're attempting to apply a linear transformation to determine your scaled mark from your aligned HSC mark. There are two problems with this: 1) Scaled marks are determined from distributions of raw HSC marks, not aligned HSC marks. You would therefore need to know your raw HSC marks and...

In the past, offers have been released online at 9am on a particular day, and newspapers have published the offers in the morning edition on the same day. However, some newsagencies had their newspapers delivered to them the night before. If you lived near one of those agencies, you could buy...
