Using state averages to determine band cut-offs

The Board forwards both raw and aligned marks (on a 1-unit basis and to one decimal place), but it is only the raw marks that are scaled and used in UAI calculations.

Using state averages to determine band cut-offs

The Board forwards all marks, because your best 10 can't be determined until after scaling.

Using state averages to determine band cut-offs

The judges are meant to only determine cut-offs with respect to the published standards. This doesn't happen until after the paper has been sat, so yes, it is theoretically possible that they could be influenced by the media - but this is unlikely to have any noticeable effect in practice. The...

what number do u put on the cover of exam paper? 1566****or11566****

You should have written 1566**** (i.e. eight digits). The extra one at the front is only for your UAC number. They'd be able to figure it out anyway.

    HTML Code - Phy

A number of forums have it enabled - but it's off by default. I've generally turned it on whenever I wanted to use tables of some sort, heh. Just don't abuse it, and let us know if you want functionality added.

    this is confusing?!?

They'll use the average. Your assessment is worth 50% and your exam is worth 50%.

How do you tell what mark you got out of 100, when it's reported out of 50?

Short of requesting the exact mark from the Board, you can't know.

Division of Marking in Elective Subjects

Individual questions are assigned to individual markers for the marking of all HSC exams. You don't ever have a single marker assessing an entire paper. So yes, you're right. :)

forcing us to sign a contract to get into advanced english

It's OK. It's not a real contract - as Frigid pointed out, it's missing a few essential ingredients. But perhaps more pertinently, note the concluding term: This is exactly what would happen if your performance was unsatisfactory, irrespective of whether you had signed any contract or...

    TAFE and UAI.

You can use <a href="/other/find7.pdf">this document</a> to convert your TAFE grades to a selection rank (the equivalent of a UAI). This is what will be used to assess you instead of your UAI if you apply via UAC.

    the honour roll

The latter. You need to have an HSC mark of 90+, and your HSC mark is the average of your moderated assessment mark and your aligned examination mark.
